I know we have been down and a lot of people here have lost hope, but with our talent is it a stretch to see us pull a 2008 Georgia and win the Tourny. We are extremely talented have have shown in the 2nd half against Kansas, the first half against KSU, and the Texas game that we can play with the big boys. Just a thought I had. Feel free to crucify me if you must.

Dren,

As much as I would like to think that would happen, Georgia was EXTREMELY lucky with the way their tourney played out.

First, the SEC, minus Florida that year, was really weak. I could not name another team that made the tourney from the SEC that year. Literally it was an open race.

Second, I believe that was the year that they had to move the SEC tourney from the georgia dome to Georgia Tech bc of leaks/bad weather. This gave Georgia more rest time between games.

I think the big 12 is stronger and there will be no such delays in KC.

Otherwise, I hope you are right since I will be attending the tournament!

No team has ever won the Big 12 tournament not having a bye the first day, so yes you're are living in fantasy land on this one.

Yeah the SEC was absolutely terrible. The big 12 this year is as deep as it has been in quite some time, maybe ever. That has really exacerbated the year we've had.

A) Florida was 4th in the SEC East that season and went to the NIT.

B) They had to play the highest seed possible until the finals, where they faced Arkansas instead of Tennessee.

C) The tornado allowed Georgia to skip Friday. But they had to come back and play TWICE on Saturday. Then again on Sunday. The first game on Saturday was an overtime game.
