There was a lot of conjecture last week that he might be gone.
Is all that still in limbo?

I thought he was leaving. Well, I don't want to sound cold hearted but if he can't work on and develop a reliable 15 foot jump shot then we don't need him. I can't see his ball handling, passing, and defense being superior to anything we have coming in.

According to James Hale, he's gone. So I guess the question becomes how much do you trust James Hale?

I don't trust James Hale any further than I could throw him.

He will be gone. Best for him and the program. As Stoops says he is in good standing with the program and they will help him find a landing spot.

This was addressed by Kruger himself in the radio interview last week.
Blair hadn't made a decision yet. AFAIK, this is the current status. He's still deciding.

And this was after Hale reported he was already gone.
That about says it all on Hale.

There is no way it is playing out like that.

That is coach speak for he is transferring, but we're not sure where he is going just yet.

Do you really think a coach would let a kid look around, then come back? How is that good for the team or OU in general?

Didn't Stoops let Peterson, a DL, back on the team after it was reported he had left?

I think football is a little different considering they have 85 on scholarship.

The Hale bashing on this board never gets old.

Well, maybe a little.

If his board doesn't suit you, don't visit it (and certainly don't pay for it). But sheesh, the constant sniping about it here gets tiresome (to me, at least -- perhaps I'm a minority of one).

Sorry to offend your tender sensibilities. However, I might suggest that rather than telling others what they should or should not do, perhaps you should just keep your comments to yourself and move on to another thread that titillates you more.

They'll be comparing the size of their respective packages before long, sports fans.

Stay tuned.

Nah. When someone criticizes my telling people what to do by telling me what to do, I figure no direct response is necessary. The irony is self-evident.

And believe me, if all it took to avoid the tedious and tiresome digs at Hale was avoiding one thread, I'd happily do it.

That said, I will clarify my meaning to this extent: it's not a matter of my having tender sensibilities; why, I'm as hardnosed and tough as they come, able to whip my weight in caterpillars. No, it's a matter of a valid enough (for many) point, long since made, that is nonetheless repeatedly reiterated, a dead horse that has been beaten until it's now an equine mush.

Besides, I already acknowledged above that I might well be a minority of one in objecting to these japes and jabs. That's an explicit admission that not everyone (and perhaps not anyone) will agree with me. I'll bet a few do, though.

Okay give me until tomorrow and I'll deliver my 5,000 word rebuttal after I have finished proofreading it. Thanks.

Way more often than not, I agree with what you post. I'm not much of a James Hale fan, either. With that said, was that post really necessary?

As for Mr. Blair, I wish him all the best. The guy gave us his all for two years. That's all one can reasonably ask of any student-athlete.

I don't really have a problem with Hale. I dropped that board because of the rabid meltdowns after every Sooner football game where we didn't hang a half a hundred on them. I think the pay board actually got worse than the free Owen Field board. Also it seemed that a lot of the more rational posters had defected leaving a higher percentag of the negative crowd.

Hale is not and never will be a basketball person.

His focus is on the Sooner football and baseball teams and the Boston Red Sox.

But he does have probably more access to the Sooner football team than any other journalist. And I always felt that Stoops had a lot of respect for him.

I have been off that board for a couple of years so maybe Hale has changed but in my experiece people always change, but not very fast.
