Blake is much stronger and faster.
Oh I agree there, but the Reach is what separates them on the defensive end

Blake is much stronger and faster.
No he isnt.
look at the bench numbers 22-7 Blake. They have the same vertical with Blake weighing more. That equals stronger calf muscles. Now speed is another story. Blake is slower straight line, but faster in the cone drill
Are you comparing Blake's combine numbers to DHoward's combine numbers? Howard is considerably stronger now than he was then. I don't think it is a valid comparison.
Howard was straight out of HS, Blake was two years in a college conditioning program.
This logic is just so horrible, I don't even know where to begin. Considering Dwight Howard now does 315 lbs reps with ease, those strength numbers from 2004 are unbelievably terrible indicators of his current strength.look at the bench numbers 22-7 Blake. This whole argument is dumb. Everyone knows that the only big man better than Dwight Howard is Shawn Bradley.
No one has "come after" Dwight Howard. He's a great player – period. However, there's no reason to believe that Blake can't put up as good – or maybe better – offensive numbers at the same point in his career.
Tim Duncan isn't exactly a scrub.Dwight Howard has been by far the best center in the league for the last 3 or 4 years. Blake has yet to play a game. The only centers close to Howard play in LA.
Capel and crew gave Blake strict orders not to be too aggressive on defense and get in foul trouble.
If true what a terrible coaching move. You can't tell anyone on your team not to play defense especially a team that had a shot at a national championship.
From a guy on the inside (of the team, not prison), Capel told Blake that a block shot wasn't worth him risking a foul. It would better for the team if he gave up points by going straight up as opposed to going for the block.
Well, yeah, I can understand that. BUT that's a far cry from not playing defense. There were times, far too many of them, that the opposing teams PG got in the lane and nobody even put a hand up. Personally, I think big guys should always just go straight up and not swat down looking for a block. That's what the great shot blockers do.
