Boom 832?

McGusty is a great get! Louisville, Baylor, Texas and Indiana are among a dozen or more schools who offered him. Rivals has him ranked at the #36 spot. He's ranked #29 on Scout.

He's also 40th in the ESPN 100. By my count, that makes him a "consensus" top 50 player. For what it's worth, he's rated higher than Pritchard by all those services. And that's not meant as a slight towards Pritchard at all, but rather a barometer of how big of a deal this is for OU.

Wowowowowowow!

This is a huge get friends

I like the way this kid can score. Beautiful jump shot. Very smooth release. Good lift. Can handle and create at the rim. Nice looking prospect. Need a point and a post...

A few of our fans panicked some days back at the news that McGusty was listening to pitches from some of the traditional hoops powers. They were convinced our chances of signing him were nil.

Today's lesson: Have a little faith, fellas!

He's not a PG right? I think I saw someone from the Oklahoman write a short blurb saying we lost a PG and now replaced him with someone else.
We are still going to try to get a point, right?

Yes, OU is still recruiting a point. McGusty is a shooting guard and is a more likely replacement for Buddy when he graduates. He could probably play point kind of like Isaiah does. This article describes his game pretty well:

McGusty's game self-description

I like this excerpt:
A member of the Houston Defenders, McGusty’s ascent hardly is an anomaly. He’s a tremendous athlete and ballhandler who scores effortlessly in the open floor, weaving among defenders and finishing with dunks or slick layups. His transition abilities also include sharp, unselfish passing and the toughness to initiate and take contact.

He told Scout recently that he would feel comfortable coming in with the intention of replacing a team’s top scorer – i.e. Buddy Hield.

Saw that Terrance Ferguson tweeted to him congratulating him, and then said "Boomer Sooner!"

A little ambitious? lol one can dream

If that were to happen and we get Pritchard back, I'll go ahead and make my NCAA championship shirts made now

This is an insane class as is...but my gosh how nuts would it be if PP would come back around...kid is destined to be a Sooner...if he would get back on the train these 3 could pull in a big to reeeeeeally cement this class as one to watch out for come next year.

Great news. Let's build on this positive momentum and round the class out well. :OU-logo:

Did anyone else ever think they'd see the day when basketball recruiting was outperforming the football side?

This is our guy to take over a game late al la Foster from K-State. He is so quick laterally that no one can stop him from getting inside and the nice pull up jumper as well. And he will also draw a lot of fouls with his athletisism. Really adjusts nicely to what the defense does.

That is one thing we lack now. We have good players but Woodard is the go to guy down the stretch and he just doesn't have those kind of skills. Maybe Buddy will develop into such a player in his senior year.
