With the regular season over now and we are on to conference tournaments...time to focus on seeding and hosting the 1st and 2nd round.

ESPN has us as a 3 seed after beating Alabama

On3 also has us as a 3 seed

Latest NET ranking has us at #13

Our team page at warrennolan.com...at 6-6 in Quad 1 games...the UNLV game fell back to a Quad 2 game (UNLV is 46 in NET...if they move up to 45 that will be a Quad 1 win)

7 wins in a row gets us ranked #9 in this ranking

Ranked #10 in the AP poll

Assuming we take care of business against UGA/Arkansas in our first game, I'm excited that we get another shot at Kentucky. In the first matchup, the story was really 3-point shooting:
- UK shoots 32.2% from 3 on the season, averaging 8.1 makes per game. Against OU, they shot 41.2% with 14 makes.
- OU shoots 33% from 3 on the season, averaging 8.6 makes per game. Against UK, we shot 20.7% with just 6 makes.

Amoore is elite, but if we have another shot, I'd hope we'd guard them better and averages would come closer to prevailing. We also did not have Liz Scott in the first game.

If we beat UGA/Arky and then Kentucky, that should all but seal a 3 seed. Anything on top of that is gravy.

If we beat UGA/Arky and lose to Kentucky, I'd think that would take us back to a 4 seed. (Of course it depends on what happens elsewhere in the country too)

Agreed with basically everything you said. Us missing Liz Scott in the rest of the LSU game and not having her for the Kentucky game at all definitely hurt OU, Because she most definitely can/could have been a difference maker for sure.

I think we should take care of business on Thursday. I would hope so at least!🤞🏽
Friday I hope Jennie has a better game plan defensively. Because our girls played POOR defense against Kentucky. We left tooo many players open trying to double team 1 player and I personally feel like we are good enough not to double team 1 player. Because leaving Clara Strack and Lawrence open consistently behind the arch hurt Oklahoma a lot just as much as OU not being able to play good defense on Georgia Amoore. She made 7 3’s on OU. If we can play pressure defense against Kentucky we might have a Good shot at beating Kentucky. Kentucky is not no where near as Athletic and as quick as Oklahoma is. Yes they definitely have length over Oklahoma but that shouldn’t have immediate them. Personally if im Jennie Im pressuring them defensively from start to finish and constantly make them work to earn their buckets and not help double team them. We can definitely guard them defensively 1 on 1 we just need Zya and Lexy to switch off on defending Amoore from start to finish. That would cost Reyna start out sitting on the bench and either Lexy or Zya get the start to defend Amoore.
If we can do those things and execute well not perfect but decently well, I think we win against Kentucky.

It's set: we're playing Georgia tomorrow after they overcame a double-digit second half deficit against Arkansas today. We beat Georgia by 31 at home in late January, but they have been playing a lot better of late, including beating #11 Tennessee last week.

Well, I was kinda right! We stayed about the same in the 2nd matchup with 6 3-point makes at 22%, but UK was wayyyyy back down to earth with 4 makes at 17%. Our defense was really, really solid all day and kept us in it when our shots weren't falling.

How did we draw the exact same team in the first round again this season?! A potential second round game against Iowa would be tough but very winnable. And potentially Connecticut in the sweet 16 is scary!!!

Of the 2 seeds UConn is the one you most wanted to avoid. Just want to see us win 2 games and get to the second weekend.

I was thinking the same thing about UConn. I think you could at least argue them as a 1 over South Carolina. Wish we didn’t have a potential second round game with Iowa, but have to play the games that are in front of you.

Their leading scorer (18 ppg), Scott, is a 5’10 senior guard who transferred to Iowa after three seasons at Villanova.
Hannah Stuelke is a 6’2 post who started on last year’s runner up team. She averaged about 13 points and eight rebounds.
The next two leading scorers, forward O’Grady (10 ppg) and guard Affolter (9ppg), were subs on the runner team. They have a lot of tournament experience. We play well, we should win. But we have to play well.

Olsen not Scott.
