Brooklyn

Mercer has a good program. Same league as Florida Gulf Coast the NCAA darling of last year. I believe they split with FGCU last year. They have 4 starters back. They aren't a pushover for sure.

This team should beat Mercer...would not call them a "good" program.

I think we should win both games. Now I think Mercer at home should be a lock, but Seton Hall at NY will prove to be a much tougher test.

With the 2 weeks off for practice could mean 2 things:
1. We will correct some of the mishaps on defense and our energy will be sky high with our players itching to get back on the court and to play on a big stage and we put on a great showing.
2. The layoff between games has our guys show up and play tentative on offense and we have a poor shooting output. Also our energy will be sky high with our players itching to get back on the court.

Something we will rarely see (if ever) with this group is a lack of intensity. Some of the games we have recently played you could understand if our guys didn't show up with maximum effort, but this just hasn't happened. The thing I love about watching these guys and reading reports from y'all is that they want to play and play hard all the time. They just don't try and turn it on for games or big games, they do it in practice and during their free time to get better.

I actually think Buddy's problem in the first half of the Idaho game was that he was too jacked up and was forcing it.

Sure, there can always be letdowns. But, really you play how you practice... And OU seems to really get after it in practice. I just worry about overconfidence sometimes..

I'll give you an up close and personal report about Mercer in about 3 days.....we play them on the road Wednesday. We are small school that plays non-scholarship United States Collegiate Athletic Association basketball (similar to a DIII)....and this will be a TOUGH matchup for us.

Wish me luck....or say a prayer, take your pick. LOL

Very well could have been, but I would much rather have that than him being tentative and not ready to play. I realize you can be too hyped up and play put of control, but buddy and the others usually play at a good balance.

Good luck, NCSooner! Look forward to your report...
