Stokes, Brown, and Wade are very good college basketball players.. Not crazy rated out of high school, but really good gems.

PG: Kamau Stokes (soph)
SG: Barry Brown (soph)
SF: Wes Iwundu (senior)
PF: Dean Wade (soph)
C: DJ Johnson (Senior)

This year they have true freshman RS Freshman Isaiah Maurice (6'10'' 225), true freshman James Love (6'10'' 230), and true freshman Xavier Sneed (6'5'' 210) playing backup roles right now, but should be pretty solid players as well.

They have a pair of 6'8'' 240 forwards coming in next year, and another guard.

The trio of Stokes/Brown/Wade was a big haul for Bruce, and probably saved his job. The fact that a bunch of sophs are sitting at 13-2 right now is very promising.

You could see it 12 months ago w/ the 3 freshmen

Hopefully our 4 can show the same

He has experience in 2 starting seniors. OU has 1 senior and he hasnt played in 2 weeks and don't get me started on Lattin.

Man, Lattin is having a tough year. Nothing like what I thought. He has the ability, just not putting it together.

Spangler covered up a lot of his inadequacies

I agree he's a clown, but he's owned us since he hit Manhattan. I, for one, will not be sorry to see him outta there.

I mentioned in the game thread...."how in the hell how that KSU team won 17 games?"

I do think usually play hard game in and game out.....maybe their players are hitting the wall late in the season? But to me, they didn't look like a very good basketball team.

Hell on Earth's gotta be playing four years under Bruce Weber. That guy would wear out even the heartiest soul. The amount of instruction he barks from the sideline......can't be too surprised when a team tunes him out.

Our guys have come a long way and they have improved a bunch, but I wonder how long it has been since the last place team in the conference won a league game by 30.

Applause.

Again, one of the best posters on this board.

With KSU and TCU fading down the stretch, it looks like the Big XII may get as few as 5 teams in the Dance. If KSU doesn't make it, I'm wondering if Weber is out as head coach.

Aside from a strong second half that ended in a blowout for the good guys this time, two things impressed me about this win. OU was playing for very little except pride. KSU was playing for a possible birth in the NCAA tournament, and they still couldn't do anything about OU's dominance in the second half.

This OU team can beat nearly anyone when they're focused and playing with a lot of energy. Lattin not only looked like the player we were hoping to see his junior season, he demonstrated the qualities of a team leader in getting his teammates fired up vocally and in leading by example in the way he played. If he can continue to carry that over to the remainder of this season and into next year, he could close out his OU career with a great senior season.

What are KSU's expectation as a program? Didn't Lon take them to an elite eight many moons ago... And not sure how far they got with that Michael Beasley guy that one year. I saw their overall record with us and I was very surprised how close they were to us...

yeah. That was NOT the effort you expect from a team looking to win 2 games to make the ncaa's. Their talent played down to lose that game so bigly.

And his voice is at such a high pitch.....that I think only whales can understand him.

1988. They lost to KU in the regional semis after beating them two out of three during the season including a fairly dominant win in the Big 8 tournament. KU beat KSU, Dook and OU in the ncaas that year after going 1-5 against those teams during the season. That KSU team had Mitch Richmond.

KSU has a very underrated tradition nationally.....with Tex Winter (2 final fours, 2 elite eights), Jack Hartman (looking it up had 4 elite eights). Rolando Blackmon, a KSU great from that era off that top of my head. having Kansas in-state doesn't help national or regional perception.

Lon made the Elite 8 in 1988 with Mitch Richmond (losing to eventual champ KU in a year we are all familiar with). in his 3rd season, Frank Martin made the Elite 8 in 2009-2010 but Beasley was one and done in FM's first year.....so MB wasn't on that team.

i never thought Weber was great at Illinois but he's hung on longer than i thought he would at KSU.
