Buddy hield fracture

Gary do you foresee Cam moving back to more of a 3 with Neal getting more post minutes? It chills me thinking of defending a team like ISU now, with all their gunners..

Gut check time for the Seniors on this roster, particularly Fitz & Pledge.

Sorry to hear this but glad it is not worse. He will be missed and other guys will need to step up.

Heck I don't know. Cam hasn't done anything but earn more playing time. We will be a guard short for the next month or so. But, I'm more in the camp that believes the seniors (Pledger,Fitz, Grooms) need to reach down and bring whatever they have got.

They are on the cusp of being some place they have never been. And this is their last chance to get there. I would hope the elder statesmen would be the ones to get us past some adversity.

I didn't include Osby because we have been riding him all year and he got to the tourney before coming to OU.

Man, that sucks. It didn't look good when he couldn't put any weight on it. Everyone is going to have to step up. Hopefully, he can come back soon.

Can has played the majority of his min on the wing in the past 6 games

I hate that Buddy got hurt, but I think that the other players will step up and do whatever needs to be done offensively and defensively.

I agree with this. But unfortunately, any hope I had of us winning this Saturday ( and it wasn't very big to begin with) has now been dashed. I still think we get to 12 wins in the conference though. But ultimately, I hate it for this kid... Osby is quoted at soonerscoop.com as saying that this couldn't have happened to a better person and hard worker (that was a paraphrase)... But he will still bring it, just from the bench for the next 4 weeks. That's the kind of kid he is; and when he comes back, I think we will be very competitive in the tourneys we will be playing in come march. Also, we will be an even deeper team!

They will have to in order for us to make the tourney. Cousins has really picked up his game the last few weeks and Hornbeak has had his moments too. I think we'll see what this team is made of in the next few games. Hoping Buddy heals quickly!

Next man up.

Seniors are going to have to carry us for a while.

Hornbeak playing more off the ball will probably be ok in the short term but that means these guys are going to have be ready to play big minutes and that includes Grooms also - we're really gonna miss Buddy on the defensive end, dude brings it every night and should be 1st team All Defense. Obliterates PGs at times with his length.

I'm absolutely sick about this, but it's part of the game. We've got to find a way to suck it up and do enough to secure a tourney bid.

Big loss.

Hope the other guards and Clark step up. This could possibly be a dagger, but I'm hoping the team rallies and gets into the dance

A dagger? he's not out forever. OU will be fine. Step away from the cliff!

Losing Hield hurts, but I don't think it will greatly hurt our chances to get to 11 or 12 wins and get a NCAA tournament bid. It would be great if the seniors could carry the team. If Pledger could start shooting extremely well from behind the arc, that would be a big boost to the offense. Cousins' improved play recently is encouraging and I hope we can get more scoring from Hornbreak. In any event, hopefully Hield has a quick recovery and comes back by the Big 12 Tournament.

Our depth should carry us. We've got three starters on the bench in Grooms, Fitz, and Clark, and a freshman in Hornbeak who started almost every game this season.

Losing Buddy hurts, but we've got the weakest part of our schedule coming up. Three of our 4 remaining road games are against the league's bottom three teams. We should be able to go 2-2 at very worst in those 4 games. That means 2-1 at home...

Personally, I am hoping OU wins all of its remaining games. I think that is still possible. The guys just have to step up and play better.
