****Buddy Hield NBA Draft Central Thread*****

Really, really hoping Minnesota as I think that's by far the best situation. Second choice would be New Orleans. Do not want Phoenix, Denver or Sacramento. Boston is the wild card, as I don't like their roster at all, but they have so much cap room and draft capital that their fortunes should change in a hurry if they manage their assets well.

Boston has Smart, Thomas and Avery Bradley correct? So I don't really understand why Boston needs a 1/2 guard. Dunn seems to be getting a ton of love the last couple of days.

It's not about need. They've been trying to trade this pick for a vet.

Boston has spent years collecting assets, in the form of players and draft picks. Smart, Thomas, and Bradley are key contributors for the Celtics, but they're not franchise players. One or more of them would likely be included in any trade package for a star.

Given the increasing value of long, athletic defenders with the physical tools to execute switches without being overwhelmed by positional mismatches (i.e. PG defending a SF), it's almost impossible to have too many of those guys.

Dunn makes guys around him a lot better Bostons 3 current guards don't do that. They can flip one of those quickly.

I hope it twolves but I'm a bulls fan and thins doesn't play rookies. That's a fact.
Butler McDermott portis etc....

I think long term it's good but mins are hard to come by with thibs

They don't but if they think he's the BPA at 3 then he will be taken. If there is one thing Ainge certainly has it's patience. Trades can be had later if need be.

Given the context of his rosters, how many rookies did Thibs have that deserved significantly more minutes? He was mostly working with late first round picks and second-rounders on playoff teams with solid depth. Tony Snell played 16 minutes per game as a rookie; Mirotic played 20 MPG. Asik only played 12 minutes, but he had Noah, Boozer, and Gibson in front of him for frontcourt minutes.

You can make a case for Butler, who didn't get big minutes until his second season.

I think there is some validity to your argument, but as far as favoring less talented yet more trusted vets over rookies on playoff teams, I don't believe Thibs is that different from most coaches. He is now in a very different situation in Minnesota, with a rebuilding team and a top 5 pick of his own choosing, rather than Foreman's non-lottery picks.

Their best 3 point shooter is Kelly Olynyk backup center. Bradley and Thomas were at 36% from 3. Boston really needs a guard that can fill it up from outside. They were 28th in 3 point shooting.

I think 3 is a little high for Buddy, but if Boston wants him, they have the chips to make deals with including I believe the 16th and 23rd picks, the first pick in the second round and more. He might be able to get to Boston, but I don't believe via the third pick in the draft.

I want Buddy to go to a decent team, but I want him in the East away from the Thunder. Looks like he will be in the west, though.

I would guess Murray is Boston's pick but I really don't know. I would think that Boston gets at least one or two guards with their first round picks because they don't really have any good shooters.

IF Boston doesn't trade out, it appears they have their eyes on either Dunn or Brown.

I really don't think Murray or Hield are options at this point, but nobody outside of Celtics' management really knows for sure.

I don't see em getting Dunn. They already have a PG just like him in Marcus Smart.

Someone is going to get a steal with buddy no matter where he goes.

So? They played Smart at the two a bunch last year. Could do the same this year, or trade somebody.

IT/Dunn
Bradley/Smart

Play 3 of them together when you go small.

Oh, and Dunn and Smart aren't "just alike". Dunn can shoot it better, is definitely a better passing pg than Smart.

On his way...

Lookin' good, Buddy. I hope all of your dreams come true tonight.
