Buford

Trying not to get too excited about him but man if he can step up and be that guy who can take some pressure off Buddy and give us another option at end game we might be going places.

this is the guy that I think will prove to be a killer - a consistent scorer and outstanding defender.

Thanks Big
Quick Jumper and quick release with great form on his shot.

He goes up straight, puts his head back a little, gets his eyes focussed on the rim and fires.

He looks like he plays under control as well.

I actually don't love the form on his shot, especially the lower body, but it always looks good when the ball is going in.

Did he take the ball to the lane any during the scrimmage? That is the advantage we need him to exploit.

He looks good but WT is very observant. His lower body is a bit odd. It seems to move forward and to the side a bit on his shots.

I want him to be a scorer off the bench. A James Hardin type back when James was the 6th man for the Thunder. Obviously he will not be as good as Hardin.

I pointed out to my son in the scrimmage that when Buford goes straight up, his shot is flawless ... when he fades forward, he was less accurate.

Odomes

I would agree. Shot is a little unstable, but from the shoulders up looks really good and has a quick release. He reminds me of Osby too, but way more athletic. I only saw him drive once, but it was explosive and he looked really comfortable going to the rim (I was only there for half of the scrimmage though). The thing i noticed from the scrimmage from really all of the guys is the confidence in letting a shot fly. If someone is open they shoot it. I think that style of offense is what Lon wants and also is what attracts elite recruits. Bolden was talking about the free flowing style of offense we have and I think this team has taken that to heart. The only thing I heard Kruger yell the entire scrimmage was for the team to be quick, quick, quick on transition. He wants the team to go fast and shoot a lot.

Just the little ive watched. He is taking spangler outside. This is key, if you put a big on him he will take you outside and faceup. I think if you try to guard him with a little then he goes to the block.

I agree with WT that balance and lower body shooting mechanics are not textbook by any means.

I love that fluid, quick release though.

I feel like I see Cam Clark more than Osby. I think he'll be a great floor spacer who will make a big impact once he finds his role in the offense.

This guy could be the x-factor, need points off the bench. Can't wait to see him in game action.

Correct. Bigger improved version of Cam.

That's what I think, too, although I can see a little Osby in him as well.

Either way, Buford could give us someone who will prove to be a match up problem for most of the teams we'll face. I'm not all that concerned about the hitch in his shot, because his release is as smooth as silk and repeatable. I don't care if his shots look like Shawn Marion's stroke, as long as they go in.

I see more Osby, myself...
