Buzz rumored to be staying at MU

He would be dumb to leave his current situation.
 
This same type of thing was happening with Mike Anderson.
 
I really hope it doesn't turn into a Mike Anderson situation. I'd rather he just stay at Marquette and we can move on.

If it means we get him, then I'm all about a Mike Anderson situation.
 
Based on the the history of previous Marquette coaches we are probably better off if they offer him the $2mil instead of us.

I think Marquette basketball is like Boise St. football. Good enough program that it wins no matter who the coach is. The football coaches from Boise have fallen flat on their face and so have the basketball coaches from Marquette.

If Buzz Williams is worth $2mil a year Brad Stevens is worth $4mil a year.
 
I would love Brad Stevens as the coach and he's worth any amount we throw at him. But he's not leaving Butler.

We may never recover if we have to settle for a Johnny Jones or Cuonzo Martin type guy. They've basically done nothing at their schools. Johnny Jones has been at UNT 10 years for a good reason. It's because nobody else really wants him and he has a horrible record.

Unless Buzz starts talking about wanting to retire at Marquette, only to sign a contract with Oklahoma and sneak out the back door, it won't turn into a Mike Anderson situation.

Cuonzo Martin would be a very good hire for OU IMO. I don't see it happening, but if it did I think he'd be successful. He's probably #2 on my list of realistic candidates for Mizzou right now (I don't see him at OU because if we get #1, Martin ends up elsewhere, and if we don't get #1 we get Martin).

Who's #1? Dont tell me Painter cause thats not being realistic. No way in hell is he leaving his alma mater for mizzou.

Yes. If they get Brad Stevens and even have to overpay a bunch for him, i will get season tickets again after letting them go last year.
 
Martin and Jones are notbthe same type of coach. Martin is just starting out after going back to Purdue after being in the NBA.
 
So it's now 12 hours since this report surfaced, and not a single media outlet other than Jeff Goodman of FoxSports has reported this (other than to just reference Goodman's report). Todd Rosiak, the Marquette beat writer for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, has been totally silent about it. He hasn't produced an article or a twitter post that indicates that Buzz signing an extension is imminent.

Yep. This isn't over until the contract is signed.
