I'm saying he stays, and I'm basing it off the scheduling. lol No Way Kruger schedules this tough of games without being loaded.

There are more than you would think. Look at the Spurs. Boehner, Diaw, Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker have all played 11 seasons or more. Guys that have the talent can play until they are 35.

It happens with a lot of players, particularly the great players; however, most players don't have the talent to even play 5 years in the NBA. It isn't their age that holds them back, they simply are not one of the top 450 players in the world for more than a brief period of time. Every single year new guys come into the league that are better than many of the journeymen and a few are better than the starters. That is why age shouldn't matter all that much in my opinion.

Nick Collison is 34 and will turn 35 this year. He was really never a full time starter but he had a long NBA career because his ability was always in the top 450 even though it was not really in the top 150 his entire career.

Outside the HOF'ers you mentioned, most old guys stay in the league because they fit a role, have a locker room presence, etc. Collison is not one of the best 450 players in the world, but he has a niche and does it well for a price. Whether you are 19 or 22 is a huge deal in the eyes of a GM, your ability to become a greater player or add a skill to help a franchise is much higher at 19 than 22.

I am not saying you are wrong about age but I personally don't get it. So few guys have a 10+ year NBA career. If you have the talent to play in the NBA there is zero reason you cannot do it at 32 other than desire. I personally think anyone with the ability can play until they are 35 baring injury and burn out. I just don't think many people start to deteriorate in ability prior to that age.
Regardless of how performance is measured, studies consistently find that NBA players peak somewhere in the 25-27 age range, with a precipitous decline after age 30.

The Spurs have three players over the age of 35, and two of them are Hall of Famers well past their primes. Very few players have the ability to play at age 35. The majority of 35+ year-old players still getting regular minutes are former star players.

Bonner, who just turned 35, is a rare exception because 1) he's a 6'10" big who has consistently hits 3s at a 40+% clip (both size and shooting ability age well), and 2) he plays for a franchise and in an offensive system that highly values continuity, and Bonner has been with the Spurs for almost a decade. They value him more than other teams because they know that he's a good locker room guy who accepts whatever role and minutes he's given. He's the embodiment of the Spurs' risk-averse nature. They're different types of players, but in terms of the intangible elements that keep them in the league on their respective teams, Bonner is similar to Nick Collison.

38 underclassmen have already declared for the draft. I think this, plus the Srs. and Foreign players, makes it more likely Buddy Comes back

Looking at the names and the talent of the guys who have already declared I just don't see any way Buddy goes in Round 1 unless some team just falls in love with him. I hope he comes back even more now, would be sad to see him leave and fall into a bad spot.

Here's a link to a list of the early entrants into the NBA draft, as well as the foreign players who have already declared or will likely declare for the draft. This list does not include seniors, so looks like there is going to be a sizeable group of players to pick from this year.

There is also a list of the players who are no longer in the draft. The list is said to have been updated April 15th, so I assume it's fairly current:

Lots of "experts" believed that last year's draft was really strong with Wiggins, Parker, Randle, etc. Now many believe that this year's draft will be much stronger than last year's draft, partly because many of those great prospects had relatively poor rookie seasons and partly because so many college players stepped up and look now much stronger than they did last year (D'Angelo Russell, Tyus Jones, and others).

This, obviously, doesn't bode well for the likelihood that Buddy would be selected in the 1st round. If he goes, I hope he is, but I think this makes it more and more likely he returns.

Now you see him now you don't. Nbadraft.net does not have Buddy in their updated mock draft. Somebody doesn't think he's going to declare. Draftexpress has him ranked the 45th prospect in their latest ranking.

Nbadraft.net now has Buddy as the number 20 pick in the 2016 draft.

Sure hope they're right!

Can I switch and say that nbadraft.net is now too legit to quit - hey, hey

We'll know something by this time next week more than likely.
