CJ is the best team leader we have had since Buddy and Isaiah shared that honor. When his shots aren’t falling he finds other ways to contribute. Hitting the boards hard is one of them.
His rebounding performance led the team to a +5 advantage on the boards over Creighton. That was with Muni, our biggest player, contributing one rebound. James is tied with McNeace with a 6.5 rebound average, second on the team. Manek leads the way with a 8.0 average.

This will probable not be a popular post for some of you. Don't get me wrong I love what CJ is doing but I was at last nights game and watched CJ on several defensive possessions and the conclusion I came up with is that he never blocks out anyone. When the shot goes up he runs to the boards. I went home and re watched the game and the film supports my opinion. He is rebounding great but will give up offensive rebounds when he doesn't guess right.

CJ was pretty terrible last night! He had so many turnovers early. Just wouldn't pass at times and missed a few easy ones. A few times on defense he just wouldn't guard anyone then look around and point at ppl. Hopefully the rebounding continues though through Big 12 play. Not too worried about him.

Clearly wasn’t his best game (3 turnovers and 4 fouls) but nearly averaged a point and a rebound per minute. Incredible.

Lon confirmed that the stat sheet was wrong in showing only 14 minutes, but the point you make is still valid -- given his limited minutes because of foul trouble, he still helped the team a lot with his rebounding.

A good rebounding team always has good rebounding guards/wings. Just look at the Thunder. They are always near or at the top of the league in rebounding due in part to their great rebounding guards (i.e Russ, PG, etc.).
