Scout.com is reporting that Jeff Capel was one of a half dozen or so coaches in Wichita Heights, Kansas yesterday (Wednesday, Sept. 22) to watch #4 ranked, five-star (2012) Power Forward, Perry Ellis, work out.

If there was ever any doubt that Coach Capel and his staff will continue to set their sights high in recruiting, one only has to check the list of big name players OU is in on in the 2012 and 2013 classes.

Go get 'em, Coach!

Monday he'll be in New England, working on Naadir Tharpe.

I heard from people there that Perry ended up not working out. Had something bothering his legs. Kind of a disappointment. Perry is having another open gym this coming Wednesday which UNC, Kentucky, Memphis, KU, G'Town and others have said would be there. I'd suspect someone from OU will be as well.

Yes, OU said they were coming back again next week. The coaches knew that Perry would probably not be working out because of his leg but they showed up anyway that was impressive for 6 head coaches to come knowing he wasn't going to work out. They just wanted to show him support. They have already seen him play.

How is his recruiting shaping up, bbhoops? Has he started narrowing down a list so far? Any schools really standing out?

Thanks.

I think he will narrow it down before his high school season to about 5-7. There are still new schools trying to get involved yet but I would say the schools he is planning on visiting or has already this month would be the one's standing out right now.
