I know it's the guy's board....but how long of a leash does she have...

good grief...lots of wasted $$$$

1-4 only win is Tex State.

If I was the AD she would already be gone.

Sherri was a great coach once when her teams won conference titles and were almost certain to make a deep run in the NCAA tourney. My wife and I were season ticket holders back then. Now, her teams have to fight to stay out of the bottom three.

She’s had more than enough time to right a sinking ship. IMO, she has to go!

Didn’t the Board of Regents renew her contract thru 2024, doubt she is going anywhere unless she resigns....can’t see the athletic department eating a buyout of around $4 million

Yes, Coale's contract was renewed through 2024, inexplicably. From what it's been said on other boards she does well with schmoozing donors that have tons of money and the money she brings in through them is more than enough to compensate the revenue they lose from having only won 21 games in going on three seasons now. Lazy recruiting and lazy coaching has gotten her to this point and even if she tried to recruit she couldn't get the premiere players at this point. Seems like the only thing that's going to change the sinking tide for that program is when her contract expires and they hire a new coach, hopefully not her son!
It's gotten so bad that between transfers and opt-outs she has a nine-person roster and only six were available the last three games.

see womens board. they love drama

no drama...just a question. I coached girls HS ball...and at one time like Ada said she was one of the top 10 coaches...guess she got lazy and comfortable.

Sad that OU doesn't care. Softball kicks ass...gymnastics kicks ass...ya'd think bball could get back there.

I saw bu beat someone by 50...on the scroller and thought crap hope it wasn't OU...that's what made me think.

A complete dumpster fire. Ca$tiglione seems not to care in the least.

I couldn't agree more. To sum it up in one word L-A-Z-Y.

Beyond ridiculous that at a school like OU, a program can be allowed to fail year after year like that one. Sure Joe C cares about winning, because most of the time winning brings money. But for him to allow it to get beyond embarrassing like it's been for awhile they should all be ashamed.

I always appreciate and respect you Coach, but this isn't really fair. I don't post on either board very much anymore, but I do read daily, and still support both programs. I can honestly say they don't have near the drama over there as I see here. The politics thread kinda proved that, lol.....:ez-laugh::ez-laugh:

I agree, the drama is pretty much over...over there. I don't post as much on here as I once did.

There is no drama, Sherri stopped recruiting and coaching years ago. She is trying to rest on her laurels. The fan base had vanished so bad that there probably wasn't 200 at the final game when they gave up a 100+ to Texas Tech last year. She hasn't filled the endowed scholarships (15) in over a decade. For this reason, this team was unprepared for COVID 19. There wasn't any depth to begin with.

Honestly, it is time for OU to make a change and get a young hungry coach (like Sherri was when she started). I am a big fan of Dionnah Jackson-Durrett. She has been paying dues working under Vic Schaefer and is Associate Head Coach at Texas now. They play DEFENSE. You could probably pay her 400K instead of 1.3M. Just think, for the past two seasons, OU has paid Sherri 130K per win.

It'd be nice if we had an AD who cared about how many games we win, however he's more concerned with $$$. SC puts out good optics, however it's becoming ever so clear to recruits that her time has passed her by, and if they want to win games/go to an NCAA tourney, they best look elsewhere. Occasionally a talented die-hard sooner fan will commit, such as Ana and Madi, even TRob, however one talented player per class does not a winning program make. You simply have to watch one game to realize most of the roster is not DI talent, and defense and discipline is no longer stressed in this program. Sad times for fans. At least our men win games, occasionally :)

No idea why he renewed after last season. He could have fired for the race issue. I heard she offered to resign. He wouldn’t accept because her contract pays her 5 million no matter why she isn’t coaching. If true easily the stupidest thing Joe has ever done.

I didn’t mean it like right now. My apologies.

I just meant In the past with posters forming a new board because of the disagreements they always had...
