You can eat for $100-125 a day in Vegas. And eat pretty good.

I’ve been to Vegas.

Actually found a bag of cociane in my qtip jar the last time I went. (True story) I have pics if you need those as well.

Anything in Vegas that isn't the $2 hotdog special at Circus Circus or maybe, MAYBE fast food (specifically In-N-Out), you are paying about twice as much as you'd pay for similar food in Oklahoma.

I love Vegas. I've gone twice each of the last two years. But it has gotten so expensive that it's almost not fun anymore. Nothing free. Nothing at a discount. Very little at a reasonable price. Fees on top of fees on top of fees. $15/$25 tables is generally the minimum. You can get some free/discounted rooms, but you have to gamble quite a bit and use your rewards card.

They (Vegas) really need to re-evaluate how they are doing things. I think they'd be better off trying to increase the number of visitors by giving back some of the benefits of going to Vegas. Lower the resort fees (or do away with them). A bottle of water shouldn't be $7. I should be able to get a burger for a reasonable price.

Vegas is starting to hurt a little. Their tourism has actually been going down and its in a slow death spiral bc theyre ending vegas classics and taking away free stuff, so travelers are losing their incentives to go. My in-laws live there still and my wife is from there

I haven't been to Vegas in a few years, but everything I have read about it in the past year backs up what you and WTSooner have said. I keep reading that FOREIGN TOURISM has taken a huge beating...surprised prices haven't come down a bit with less visitors / less spending. Regardless, let's hope this tournament does for us next year what it did for Nebraska this year.
 
I only Sports bet so it's been nice getting off the Vegas tit and mixing it up going to all of the states that have legal sports gambling now. Really ready for Oklahoma to join the party

Worst thing that could happen to both sports (throwing games) and young men (gambling addiction rising at crazy levels).

college age men already gamble at very very high levels .. lots of websites are out there to do it now ..

That’s my point. Not nearly as many did it when it was offshore or thru a bookie. With all the new ways, making it easier, it’s becoming a problem. Lots of articles out there about it. Rise of gambling addiction. Rise of young men losing everything they have, which leads to other issues.

I just don’t see making it easier a good thing. Freedom, I get it, but I’ve seen what it’s doing to young men.
 
Days of everything in Vegas being cheap but the gambling are long gone. To stay and play on the Strip is crazy expensive. Downtown is still a little better. There are still a few decent meal deals downtown if you look hard enough. Rooms are expensive, food is expensive, cabs are expensive, and shows are crazy expensive.

Many years ago, when I was in the USMC and stationed in California, my wife and I would drive to Vegas on a Saturday morning, get a room for next to nothing, each steak and lobster deals for less then $20 bucks for dinner or eat a really good buffet for about the same price, catch a show for $30 bucks, play slots for a few minutes, have a drink and watch a free lounge act, and then get up and drive back. Good fun and cheap weekend getaway. No telling what that would cost you now.

Exactly, making it to where it’s easily accessible on a phone is the problem.

Be careful downtown, lol. I played a cool variant of blackjack one night at the 4 Queens. I had to sit next to this older guy, had to be pushing 90, and he chain smoked next to me for 3-4 hours. I coughed for about 6 weeks after that trip. :)

I didn't used to like downtown, but it's growing on me. I do like playing poker at the Golden Nugget. Some good games there.
