I've been watching Kansas at Tech. Tech has hit 7 of 10 from three point range in the first half. Baker has drawn three charges. Tech leads 43-28, their biggest scoring output in a half in conference play this year.
Both teams have kids who can play. But, they seem a step slower than their counterparts at Baylor or OU. KU is simply slow.
WB beat K-State which was no surprise, 63-51. I am a little surprised at the ease with which Iowa State is handling TCU, 44-33 at 16:086 I had picked TCU. Like their guards more than what I have seen from the Cyclones.
Yes, thanks, I just checked. Stanford did not sound right but thought it was a ranked pac 12 team. Anyway, I just don't think they are that bad but they don't seem to be able to win in the Big 12.
As a result of last night's games, the Big Twelve is beginning to take shape:
1. Baylor 6-0
1. Oklahoma 6-0
3. Iowa State 4-2
4. Texas 3-3
4. TCU 3-3
6. Oklahoma State 2-4
6. Texas Tech 2-4
6. West Virginia 2--4
9. Kansas State 1-5
9. Kansas 1-5
Saturday brings Iowa State at Texas which could really hurt both. The loser falls a bit too far behind OU and Baylor to be a contender.
After hosting Tech on Saturday, OU travels to Texas next Thursday and West Virginia on Sunday before hosting Iowa State on Wednesday. That will be a rather important three-game stretch. If we win those three games, it is down to OU/Baylor with no other suitors for the title. We are probably looking at an 8-4 finish being sufficient for second, but maybe not a home court advantage in the NCAAs. A 9-3 record would probably get us there.
I had NO reason to doubt Tech was going to win . . . right up to the time KU got the ball in the final seconds with the score tied.
Then I said, "NO, NO, IT CAN'T END LIKE THIS!" Saw it coming. Everyone did. Couldn't stop it. Kansas scored to go up by 2 with less than a second left.
1st half was the best offensive effort I've seen by Tech this season.
2nd half . . . not so good.

Losing a fifteen point lead at home to Kansas should be a bitter pill. Tech had no answer for Gardner, and they really didn't play well together for the entire game. They shot well in the first half, getting 21 points from three point range. I don't think they hit a three in the second half until the end of the game. That long, long spell of no field goals just evaporated their lead.
