Couple of Thoughts

I'm sorry, I just don't see it with Tyler. His shot selection is bad, his shooting % is terrible, and he doens't offer much in areas of rebounding, defense etc. The less meaningful minutes he is forced to play, the better this team is. He shot 21.4% last year and 26.1% from three. If he had simply focused on nothing else but 3 pt shooting to bring one asset he would be more helpful.

Hate to be so negative on the guy, but when I watch him play, it hurts my insides. One of the true shining examples of the last minute stretch signings Capel had to annually pull to fill out a roster.

I'm sure he is a fine player, and major props to him for Academic Big 12 selections the last 2 years, so glad he is helping out the team there. But meaningful minutes need to be limited.

What is odd is that the players rank him as the most athletic guy on the team. You would think he would be a star if he was the most athletic guy on the team. He has good form and he is smart guy. I keep hoping the light will turn on and he will have a great season but I don't expect it to happen.

This smells similar to the recent NBA GM vote that awarded Kevin Love the award for "Does the Most with the Least." I think people expect very little from a white guy, and when he can go up and throw down a dunk in practice and run faster than some of them in training, they are blown away. Not saying it's right, but it's really funny when you hear certain labels like "coach on the floor," "tireless worker to get most of his ability," "More athletic than you would think," "hustle-player" it puts a certain color of player in your head haha.

I don't know about his form. Something has always looked off to me. I ran some of his shots back on forth on the DVR for the last game and it looks to me like he wants to drift forward when he shoots. Has anyone else noticed that or am I completely wrong?

was just unfortunate that I quoted you when I meant it as agreeing with you vs. others on the board, and not contradicting you. :facepalm

we are on the same page, carry on sir

Good to know, Dahl! That's usually the case with us.

What is that old saying about great minds? ;)

Fans might be racist but I like to think the athletes are not.

my father and i were there live and both thought the same thing .. he really needs to go up on the jumper and not forward ..

also it should be noted that tyler was much better in game 1 and IMHO it is because he attacked the rim

he is a very good athlete and he will be quicker than most guys guarding him at the 4 .. he need to attack the rim off the bounce and not settle for jumpers
