Cousins improvement

I hope future recruits notice the improvement that is possible if they sign with OU and get a chance to work with LK and Henson. I doubt there are two better shooting coaches (or coaches that can shoot better) than those two. Took my son to a camp at OU last year and they are still very impressive shooters.

Hield and Cousins are two great showcases of their work. Of course, Isaiah and Buddy are to be commended for getting in the gym as much as they have.

WF, I had a feeling you could name the year and the players to prove me wrong.

I was right about one thing, though. It has been a long time. ;)

For the record, I wasn't disagreeing with you. Actually, none of us had any idea prior to the '89-90 season that we would be such a good-shooting team. No one knew about 4 of the guys I mentioned above until they got on the court, so the anticipation probably wasn't there. Next year's list of potential outside shooters is a lot to be excited about because 5 of them are returning!

The Booker block of the dunk that was called a foul was a thing of beauty and took alot of nuts. I love the kid's moxie and athleticism. Lon is 2-2 on late signing period never-heard-ofs....

Bruce Drake had a whole team of guards. He said over and over that with five small fast players he could win with his Drake Shuffle.

The problem was that Kansas came in with 7-1, 6-9, 6-7, 6-5 and 63. And all but the 7-1 was as quick as Drake's guys.

You can guess the result.

And he had that strategy even without the benefit of the 3 point line!

I have always thought that really good college teams can get by with one great big man, but usually need at least 3 great guards.

While we all would like to see OU sign the top kids, what we are seeing is that LK builds with four year players that he develops.

Cousins has come light years in one season due to his hard work in the gym and the coaching he is receiving.

Under just three years, the program is already on solid footing and is only going to get better.

I was one that thought it would take four to five years to get back on track, boy was I wrong and glad to eat crow.
