D'Angelo Allen visiting this weekend

Plenty of playing time on a top 20 team with only four guards on campus.

I agree that he'll be a great perimeter defender with size, speed, and hops. If he's the fifth best guard on our team next in the year's to come, we're in good shape. The Tony Crocker comparison was pretty good, though I think he's longer and more athletic than TC.

I think Allen doesn't leave norman without committing. Lon seals the deal this weekend.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe wishful thinking on my part, but Je'lon leaving definitely opened the door for Allen to step in and play meaningful minutes next season.

If OU cannot get Goodman and it looks like he's signing with ASU,
then Allen is a great second pickup.
Just gives OU a lot of flexibility.

Allen is a good consolation prize and has a nice offer list. Hope we seal the deal cause definitely looks like he can play.

Do you take both Allen and Walker if possible?

Id say take allen over walker but dont know about both... I think 2015 could be a great class.

Tough call. The problem is, Allen is the better prospect, but Walker can play the point. I think we just about have to take somebody that can play the point.

If we take them both, that would leave us with two (2) scholarships available for the 2015 class. The open one, and Bennett's. The bigger problem is that out of those two scholarships, probably no more than 1 could be used on a guard in order to maintain roster balance.

Glad we have LK calling the shots. He'll make a good decision.

I agree with your take on Allen. I would take him over Walker if we didn't need a back up at the point right now. To me, he has the most upside, plus he has five years to play four. But taking him over Walker means we still don't have anyone who can play the point except Jordan.

In other words, we may not have any choice but to sign both of them if we can.

I bet the coaches have a feel about all of their 2015 offers as well. If they think they'll be lucky to get one of those really good guards they've offered, they might just go ahead and take both of these kids. If they feel better than that, still think 2 of them are a good possibility, they may have a decision to make.

I think we take Allen and Walker then look to get the best guard and the best big we can for 2015. It's a real shame this 2015 class is not the 2016 class. We would have the needs and the spots to take more guys.

There you go. They want Longar's 7' tall cousin and the best guard they can find next year.

There is also the possibility that a player on this year's roster won't be here next season. Look no further than M'Baye last year and Hornbeak this year as proof that a scholarship we don't have now may open up for the 2015 class.

Reality in today's world, although some major changes could be coming regarding transfer, especially in the waiver process.

If we only have 2, then who do they go the hardest after? Agree we gotta go after manyang, kid looks like he could be a beast.

I suspect that Kruger is more comfortable with Cousins as back up to Woodard than most on this board.

Yes, Cousins can handle the backup point guard minutes better than anyone we would likely pickup at this point. Hopefully, who ever Kruger brings in will come along quickly enough that he doesn't have to.

He's definitely more comfortable than I am. My memory of him as a PG was that when the opponent went with the full-court press, we couldn't get the ball past the half-court line. It's my hope Coach Kruger can land a guy who has no worse than decent ball-handling capabilities.
