When is someone going to wonder if he is connected to some questionable people with gambling. He sits out games late. A couple weeks ago scores 18 in first half then plays first 3 minutes of second half and calls it good. I know he has complained of sore legs, cramps etc. but it seems questionable to me.

This has to hurt his NBA stock. No one wants a part time player.
I think you're half-right. No question the NBA is getting tired of these players as they pop up everywhere. However, guys like A Davis, K Leonard, and J Embiid have made a nice living as part-time players. It hasn't quite worked out as well for Z Williamson. If it comes down to a coin flip, Peterson may drop a notch or two, but if he's the consensus #1, that team will roll the dice.

He's going to be a guy no one knows what's going to happen. Is he going to be Anthony Edwards or Ben Simmons?

Peterson will be drafted extremely high. This might drop him to #2 below Dybantsa, but that was always a strong possibility regardless. Very rarely has this kept teams from pursuing. If the teams in the top 2 are spooked, they'll just trade down with a team that isn't.

How not? Dudes that don't love basketball, they just love money
Ben Simmons was highly rated and obviously the first pick, but was also known to have a major flaw in his game, and that really limited him in the NBA, in addition to the injuries. Peterson is a much better prospect.

And I just think it is silly, after three months, to assume you know whether Peterson loves basketball. Do you make the same assumption about the 500 football players on our roster who have missed far more time due to injuries? Injuries are part of sports. His initial leg injury was documented and diagnosed, and he also badly sprained his ankle -- those are real things. The cramping/tightness issue is definitely weird, and hard to understand, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's fake. And if he truly were just looking to bank money at this point, why would he be playing at all? He has already done enough to cement his status as a top 2 pick, assuming his medicals look ok in the predraft process.

I'm not singling you out, by the way. I know tons of people feel this way. I have gotten a lot of laughs at seeing KU fans' reactions to him -- some of them have bashed him nonstop and others defend him, but I love when their annoying fan base turns on one of their own.

Comparing him to Simmons is wild. Those two have nothing in common.
crazy that this is where ben simmons career started in the nba

3× NBA All-Star (2019–2021)
All-NBA Third Team (2020)
2× NBA All-Defensive First Team (2020, 2021)
NBA Rookie of the Year (2018)
NBA All-Rookie First Team (2018)
NBA steals leader (2020)

he was not a great shooter .. but he was a star nba player ..

then the FT thing got in his head .. and he was pretty much worthless ..

You can tell hes soft, plain, and simple. Prolly pulled "injuries" in high school when it was time for sprints too. Played with dudes like that all of the time. If you think he's not going to be a diva, you're crazy

But anyway, that was the reason for the comparison. While it may be premature, that's the basis for the comparison and i don't think it's far fetched and that they have nothing in common

Yeah, I would guess Peterson has a better career, but he's not a better prospect. Simmons was one of the best prospects in a long time but fell apart mentally.
