So if you were Kruger what would you do?

I would look to keep Crocker off the boards and make him work for his points. I would force Gray to shoot from the outside and not give up good looks to Hannahs. I think if you do that you beat Tech. Obiously you don't want to let Tolbert or Kravic just go off for a career day but I don't think they are the real worry for Tech. Just play solid defense on them and I think they have pretty normal nights.

Outside of Hannahs Tech is a bad 3 point shooting team. Statistically the teams are fairly even with OU having slight advantages; however, OU has played a much tougher schedule. I suspect when the season is over OU is going to have a strong statistical advantage over Tech.

This is a game OU needs to win and should win. Lets hope for a good crowd and good showing by OU.

Honestly, this game worries me a bit. Could this be OU's egg they are going to lay? The team is riding high lately, two great conference wins. Does the team have the maturity and leadership to bring it every night? Everyone pretty much had this, and even in Lubbock as sure wins... Well let's hope the guys bring the same passion and execution Wednesday night!

If OU doesn't beat Tech at home they still have a long way to go. Baylor and KU destroyed Tech in Lubbock. Tech is not very good. OU should win by double digits. Tech has only played one road game on the season. I don't know if they played in a tournament.

KU was losing at halftime...

I hope our team comes out and plays hard and doesn't take anything for granted.

I understand. I just still have visions of SFA and Northwestern St. dancing in my head. But I realize we are better now.

You mean the 14-1 SFA team that we were literally one inch away from defeating?

It was a frustrating loss, no doubt, but against a pretty darned strong team. And yet it seems to haunt some of our fans so much that many can't enjoy the four terrific games we've played since.

You're right, sky. If I recall correctly, Hornbeak's shot in the final seconds literally hung on the rim for at least two seconds before it finally rolled off…and broke my heart.

Not that I'm happy with it now, but SFA's record does take some of the sting out of that loss. It's a game we should have won, of course. But as I said on another thread, it also served as a wake up call that led to the turnaround we're seeing now. So, in that sense, we were able to take something positive out of the loss.

As for the game against Tech, I believe OU's biggest challenge will be to guard against complacency after beating a very good OSU team over the weekend. If our players think they can sleepwalk through a good portion of the game and still beat Tech, they could find themselves with the same sick feeling they had last year when TTU gave them a lesson in humility, with an 18 points thrashing in Lubbock. And, by the way, that was Tech's only conference win.

Yep. We'd still have needed a successful +1 to win it in regulation, but I'd have liked our chances.

If we have a raucous home crowd, well, forget that...:ez-roll:

Anyway, we should win this game and win easily but you never know. I feel much better about this game than I do the return in Lubbock based on last seasons game there, though.

I'm sort of surprised that Jaye Crockett stayed at Tech, except that he did redshirt as a true freshman. UNM really wanted him, but his hometown of Clovis, NM, is a lot closer to Lubbock than it is to Albuquerque (but, it's not universal that everyone in Clovis loves the Hamburglars like it's rumored in central New Mexico).

Crockett is really a good talent who deserves better than what that team was last year in Lubbock.
