Two 6-6 seasons and people are pleased with that as opposed to basketball? Same difference to me lol
Season 1: Recovery season post-Riley where he inherited one of the worst P5 defenses in the country and quite literally no QBs (6-6)
Season 2: Built some momentum, defense shows improvement, get some stability on the offensive side, show progress (10-2)
Season 3: Much improved defense but disaster OC hire and 5 star QB bust (6-6)
Season 4: Correct for season 3 offensive errors and make the playoff playing one of the toughest schedules in the country with wins at Tennessee and at Alabama (10-2)
VS
Season 1: Take over a program in a solid, if-not stale/stagnant state coming off qualifying for 7 of the last 8 NCAA tourneys, miss tourney (19-16, 7-11)
Season 2: Dumpster fire (15-17, 5-13)
Season 3: Last year in the big 12, arguably Moser's most talented team. Tough break missing the tourney as last team out behind Virginia (20-12, 8-10)
Season 4: First season in the SEC, start hot thanks to freshman phenom, fall apart in SEC play. Finally make the tourney and lose first round (20-14, 6-12)
Season 5: Get NIL boost and bring in some solid veteran guards, lay an egg in noncon, 9 game losing streak followed by hot streak at end of season to pull back into consideration. Ultimately fall short in what was seen as the worst bubble in over a decade (per EvanMiya). (19-15, 7-11)
That's the same to you? This goes back to my last post that the expectations of OU football are so intrinsically higher than they are of OU basketball that we almost cannot even compare them. Moser has FAILED. Say what you will about the state of the program, but he walked into a team that had qualified for SEVEN of the last EIGHT tournaments (87.5%) and has proceeded to go 1 for 5 since (20%).
