Depth chart

As of today, I'd say:

PG: Woodard/Cousins
SG: Hornbeak/Booker
OG: Hield/Cam
PF: Bennett/Cam/Avila
C: Spangler/Hamilton/Avila

Obviously there are a couple of guys that can play multiple spots, specifically Cam and maybe Avila. I'm not sure if Avila projects more as a 4/5 (not that there is always much difference). To me, initially, those are the top 10 guys. Not sure how much meaningful playing time Neal/Cole can expect. If Neal can hit the three at a 35%+ clip, he could probably steal a few minutes at the 3 spot like he did this year.

Hopefully Neal gets lots of splinters on the bench. If he gets much PT OU is in dip doo-doo.

Still think there is a D-1 transfer coming that will be able to play right away and have a positive impact on the rotation. That said, I expect the rotation to look something like:

1 - Woodard
2 - Hornbeak
3 - Hield
4 - Spangler
5 - Bennett

Bench
Cousins
Booker
Clark
Avila/Hamilton

Neal or Cole will get 5 min or so per game.

Hornbeak started just about every game this past season, while Cam started none. I don't see Cam starting over Hornbeak. We will need Hornbeak's shooting in our starting lineup.

Hornbeak did start most games. Then Buddy took his spot and kept it until getting hurt. I'm predicting that Buddy will start out ahead of Hornbeak. I know you aren't a Cam fan. But, he has started a lot of games at the #3.

From Kruger's comments it sounds like Cam is finally getting it through his head what is expected out of him. I'm just rooting for the kid to finish out his career in a good way.

I'm going to say we have a small starting lineup:

Woodard
Hornbeak
Hield
Cam
Spangler

That leaves us some heft on the bench, as well as versatility on the perimeter with Cousins and Booker.

cousins hield cam bennett and spangler from day 1

woodward the starter soon

You may be right and that line up could be pretty competitive. But, Kruger has stocked in a lot of bigs if his intension is only to play one of them at a time.

agreed ... also cam played ways more at the 3 as the season moved along

One at a time, 4 mins each... Play your balls off, youre getting a rest shortly!

I assume LK will do like this year, and try to have a 2nd team that can stand alone. Meaning, he isn't going to start Cam, b/c he wouldn't have a 2nd unit that could come in, unless you played Neal at the 3. Part of what made Cam "better" this year, IMO, was that he had a reduced role, and was playing against 2nd unit players at times. I don't see any reason to change that role. We have Hield as the high energy defender in the starting lineup. Let Cam be that guy for the 2nd unit.

I could see Cousins starting over Woodard, I'm just guessing on that one. Truly is a toss up.

I would expect Cam to get as many min off the bench and still play at the level he played at last season. I could see him playing 20-22 min off the bench if he can handle it.

I expect Kruger to go two deep also. He has Cam plus five guards to fill 3 positions. I don't think all 6 will get equal minutes. Whether he starts or not, I would expect Cam to get more than an equal share and probably Booker to get less.

And then the rest of them kind of sort themselves out from week to week. As far as Woodard and Cousins goes. Even if Woodard is as advertised, I am a little concerned that he might not be 100% on June 1st. If he starts out behind against Cousins, it might take him a good while to catch up.
