The was a weird substitution group most of the night. Ha! KSU's talent level wasn't anything to write home about, but OU sleepwalking wasn't either. Play down to your competition much?

Nothing worse than losing to KSU in basketball, especially after their Applebee's eating Prez kicks dirt in the face of Boren last week. :facepalm

Was it their new facilities Lon Kruger wanted to reward?

If you didn't understand that KSU could play beforehand, that's your fault.

We missed our 3s and just didn't defend well inside. Foul trouble played a role in that. But we did a poor job keeping them out of the lane. We've been playing a couple games like that but we also got it together to finish off some of those games.

That's an overly simplistic view of what happened. We didn't have the looks we've had all season. Woodard had a couple of good looks, but nearly everything else we took from outside was contested or rushed. They let Spangler take as many threes as he wanted, b/c Spangler isn't going to beat you doing that 99% of the time. Much like last here, his shooting percentages are on their way down. If my math is right, Ryan is 5 for his last 24 from deep. I don't have to tell you that isn't a very good percentage.

Law of averages. This team better start finding ways to win that don't involve shooting a ridiculous percentage from three.

Buddy had about 3 or 4 shots he usually makes. Woodard couldn't make anything. KSU played a big role. Not going to discredit them. But we just played bad overall.

Combination of being cold and KSU guarding it.

They have the best perimeter D in the conference.

Buddy's been hitting some ridiculously tough shots this year. Those are going to even out. Obviously Buddy got some good looks too that he missed, but he didn't have many of them, and almost none in transition (especially the last 3/4 of the game).

They were better in transition D against us this time. They guarded the 3 line really good and we should've been driving and kicking, finishing, or going to the line. The open looks we did get were rushed, poor form, or rimmed out. Should've rebounded better, defended better but this was about not making shots.

No, he took one from his Alma Mater..not for

Consecutive losses in Manhattan since 2012 are too numerous to ignore. It is quite possible that psychologically speaking, the players took one for their coach as well.

The substitutions were unusual and the lack of intensity on defense were evident yesterday. Something is at play here.

NM. Not going to dignify this with a response...

Bill Self seems to have a mental block to beating Travis Ford in Stillwater. Kind of hard to wrap my brain around that.

wow… what a post?? are you serious?

the bandwagon folks are running off the good posters with these dumb clown posts.

why would Lon lose on purpose? this isn't summer ball man? come on!!

show Lon some respect. head back over to the football board and get stoops fired? or kish? or smitty? maybe sherri cole too? what has she done for OU?

OU

OU missed sme shots, ISU **** well above normal, OU had foul trouble, KSU got to the line more and it was on the road. Add all that up and it equals an upset. It sucks but it is college basketball. UNC lost twice this week.

And folks thought I was negative...lol. Wow.

OU played horrible...partly their fault partly ksu ...

I really hope the OP wasn't being serious.

Even if he was serious, he obviously didn't spend much time thinking through the very idea that Coach Kruger would "take one for the team" to give his Alma Mater a helping hand. For one thing, LK's reputation as a straight shooter at every stop should be enough to answer that question.

If not, I'll add one more that will make more sense. Why would the coach of the #1 ranked team in the country blow off the possibility of an important win on the road that would keep his team at the top of the conference race and take a hit in the national polls in the process? The very idea that any coach, especially Lon Kruger, would do something like that is so ridiculous it's not worthy of consideration.

I'll offer some better reasons for our loss, starting with our porous defense. Simply saying Jordan had the worst game of his career offensively, Buddy was not at his best, Lattin got in early foul trouble, and our bench didn't do much to help is not giving K-State the credit they deserve for playing a great game. A combination of all of those things led to the loss, not some silly notion that Lon may have conspired somehow to "throw his Alma Mater a bone."

Come on, HW, you're better than that!
