Dinjiyl Walker - Juco Combo Guard

Where will he get his minutes? Do the math. Jelon left but he was playing point rotating with Woodard, not the wing. You didn't see both Woodard and Jelon on the court at the same time very often. Jelon only averaged 18 minutes/game and most of that was at point where I assume Walker will play (hopefully).

We only have 80 minutes a game for the wing players. Allen won't be playing point and probably not much at the 4. Cousins and Buddy will each get 25-30 minutes/game (they averaged 62 minutes this year). You said Booker will assume a bigger role and it won't be at point. Will he get 10-15 minutes? (he averaged 14 minutes this year) That doesn't leave much for a 4th wing player. Especially during conference play when they quit experimenting with rotations and go to an 8-9 player rotation.

JMHO.

It'll vary every game but if you play someone our size or tad bigger. Allen will play the "4"... A lot teams play four guards.

Not many thought Woodard would start, Not many though Isiah would be what he was this year... Things will work themselves out... they always do...

When a program like OU's get's a good player like Allen, the first thing OU sold and Allen bought was playing time. The 2nd thing OU sold and Allen would have bought is how Allen's skills matched up with OU's playing style and how he could excel within that style.

If OU get's Allen, he will play plenty of minutes. Buford and Lattin were also sold and bought the same thing. All three of them will get their opportunities.

If Allen has even the slightest belief that he will be a bench jockey for a year or two, OU will have no shot at him.

I'm sure D'Angelo Allen is a nice player and is probably the best available option. For the sake of discussion I just don't see where he gets many minutes next year as a wing. Maybe 5-10. Maybe not. I also don't see him as a 4. We don't need a 6'6" 185 lb PF teamed up with Spangler in the frontcourt. That's what killed us this season. We need some bulk and size. LK did a great job this season coaching the Sooners to 2nd place. I just don't see it again with teams like KU, Texas, and Iowa State and the size they have.

For example, Iowa State's frontcourt is exceptionally deep next season. Dustin Hogue is back at the three after a breakout NCAA Tournament (scored 34 against UConn) and Georges Niang, along with Marquette transfer Jameel McKay (2 time juco 1st team AA and eligible after nine games), will round out a frontcourt that could match up with any opponent in America. The 6-8 McKay is the first true rim protector that Hoiberg has had at Iowa State and should provide the Cyclones with a different dynamic since he can block shots and protect the front of the goal.

I would like to see OU go after 6'8" 240 lb transfer TaShawn Thomas who led the Houston Cougars in scoring (15.4) and rebounding (8.1) last season and was a second-team American Athletic Conference selection.
