Disgusted

It's almost as if some of these people come to the games solely due to some sort of sense of duty but really couldn't care less about what the outcome is. I mean I was embarrassed by what I saw today. We're down by 3 with a little over a minute to go, desperately needing a stop on defense, and our crowd acts like they're watching a CSPAN broadcast. During the halftime BMX deal they were literally having to beg the crowd to even give a golf clap. I felt bad for them.

I don't have an answer for crowd apathy (especially when the Thunder played at San Antonio last night), but I do know that Lon Kruger is doing a solid job with this squad. We look like a well-coached team but without all of the horses needed to compete at the highest level. Iowa State is much better than they have been the past few seasons, so losing to them isn't a disgrace this season. We couldn't even make the CBI last year, so the NIT would obviously be a step in the right direction. I'm thinking one step at a time while Coach Kruger gets his recruits assimilated into the program.

I'm having a hard time deciding which was more disgusting today: our defense, or our crowd. Both were pathetic.

This. Although anyone like myself who lives too far away to attend games has no right to start threads about the home crowd, we're at least allowed to agree with the assessment of someone who does attend them. Yesterday was one of those games that a good home crowd would have likely made a difference in the outcome.

As for the defense, I lost count how many times my voice raised to say: "C'mon guys, we need a STOP!" We just didn't seem to get many of them, that's for sure.

And of course again today people started heading to the exits at the under 8 timeout. By the under 4 timeout, they were streaming out. I will never understand that. Never.

If people are so pressed for time, why don't they come late and watch the end rather leaving when the game's outcome is still up in the air.

Lol! I really hope one day we can actually comeback and beat one of these teams so I can make fun of those morons. And that doesn't just apply to basketball...at the Texas Tech football game this year, I went to the game with about 15 other people, and there were *two* of us still in the stadium at the end. Smh.

That has happened several times. Many people left the end of the crazy Bedlam game that we shouldn't have one. I have also seen people leave with the tied and less than a minute to go many many times. I think it is testament to how crappy the LNC parking lot and how horribly slow it is to get back to I-35 that people are willing to miss the best part of the game.

Haven't been watching much OU basketball lately, eh?

Ehhhh.... I think i have. Name one worse, besides last year. And last year was about the same. The horrible chemistry team we had with TMG, Willie, and Tiny were bad only because they were selfish and didnt play D. There were games when those guys would explode offensively. They could create their own shots and nail open ones. The guys we have this year, even though they may have much better character, would be hard pressed to win a game of PIG with Gottleib. :eddie187_jpg_xs: This team could build a rather large neighborhood the way they shoot.

Even if we lose, this team is still fun to watch. I feel like we can win any game with this team, even if we end up losing the game. At least we're fighting. At least we're looking competent. If only, if only we got the foul calls and had the talent level our opponents did, but we don't, and that's OK for now. We'll get better. Go us!

Thanks, badger. Great post.

I'm a pathetic little positive beacon of light, aren't I? Might as well add in an "Aww shucks, I love our boys sooooo much and there's only winners in the game of life!" :P

So, here goes: **** Mizzou and their SEC defecting arses. LNC, throw stuff on the court if the refs aren't being fair. And if our regular shots aren't falling, force your way into the paint till we get to the foul line to see if our free throw shots have any better chance of falling.

Eff the tigers. All five D-1 schools that claim them as their mascots. Especially the three that are gonna be in the SEC next year. EFF THE TIGERS.

I disagree with this. We have the talent level. Not on par with Kansas, Baylor, or Mizzou, but no one else is going to out talent us this season. We've played poorly and looked poorly coached for long stretches in the games we've lost.

Exactly. We've lost 4 games to team with superior talent. KU, KU, MU, MU. But we've lost 5 games with teams of equal or lesser talent, A&M, OSU, ISU, Cincy and St. Louis.

But the easiest to judge will be Saturday at Texas Tech. We have 3 players that would EASILY be the best player on the Tech roster in Osby, Fitz and Pledge. If we lose to them there should be no more excuses.

What if we DO lose? You wanna fire Kruger? Rescind all scholarships next year? Disband the program?

Sheesh.

I wonder if Title IX would get the program re-instated within a week ;)

my heart is breaking for the men's team. i don't think i can stomach the pepto bismol show in waco tonight after the men's game :(
