Watching the practice tonight. How much is he going to improve this year? He looks like he is running with the first team some.

I think if DJ can stay out of foul trouble and still give us some offensive production, it would be huge for us. Especially if Thomas doesn't play this year. He is the one guy who has a real presence inside defensively. Latin could possibly provide some of that, but I think DJ is the key.

I don't think he is going to give up his playing time quietly. If TaShawn can play then he probably won't get a lot of time, but if not then I bet he is going to be used quite a bit so that the freshman can be worked into the rotation slower.

For DJ, it all comes down to how well he rebounds the basketball. That has been a huge emphasis this offseason and one CLK has been personally overseeing in many of their drills.

Agreed. I have said for sometime that D. J. could be a key to our success this season. His role, and the number of minutes he plays, will depend to a great extent on whether Thomas is available. But I think he'll be an important part of our rotation either way.

I'll admit that I may be a bit higher on Bennett than most. I saw a lot of things I liked about him last year. He was impressive in spurts, albeit with limited playing time. I watched him almost exclusively in yesterday's practice at times, and nothing I saw altered my opinion. I thought he was the third best big on the floor, with Spangler and Thomas occupying the first two spots.

Bennett will play, and it could be a lot if Thomas is not eligible.

I agree. If TaShawn doesn't play there isn't a Cam Clark or Tyler Neal to play. He is next up with the most experience.

I think DJ gets at least 20 minutes if Thomas can play. If not, closer to 30.

He needs to have a good year for us to go deep in the NCAA. If Thomas plays we will be rock solid inside. If not then we will be up and down depending on how the young guys come along.
