Does Sherri Retire After Next Year?

You've got to remember that this board is a cesspool of negativity. Very few OUWBB fans outside of this board feel that negativity. Syb's post, which was blasted as "extremism" pretty much reflects the feeling of the vast majority of fans, as well as the administration.

First, the longer OU is not having big seasons like Sherri used to have.
The more regular fans just don't care about women's hoops.
Apathy. Mostly followed by anger over paying Sherri million plus and why
OU doesn't use that money to give Bob more coaching staff like Nick Saban.

Second, I know lots of OUWBB fans who don't even know this place exists and their thoughts are similar.
"I love Sherri. I love what she has done for OU hoops. But maybe she's burnt
out. Maybe OU needs a change. I hope Sherri is able to get OU back to national relevance. "

I don't think that she will retire after next season. My hope is that she wants to stay and get the program back to where it was. She has done a great job. There is no doubt about that. However, since our last Final Four in 2010, we have had a bunch of extremely average seasons. We will see though. I want her to stay and get it figured out, but if there are two or three more seasons like the last six or so, I'm not sure what will occur.

I have bought and used wbb tickets for years now, but if we have another year like this year and 13-14 where we underachieve and play horribly inconsistent, and do not make major changes in the program, I will vote with my money and my butt, and go back to attending only high school wbb.

I live in Norman and attend the pregame feed in the Courtside Club at Llyod Noble. My wife and I are fans and we talk to a lot of people about the women's basketball program. I will tell you, there is a lot of griping going on by long time fans.

When people become annoyed/frustrated with their team, regardless of the sport, they start finding other things to do with their time and money. That's when management gets involved. It will be interesting to see if there is a drop off in ticket sales this fall.

Hearing the same things from many long time season ticket holders in the section we sit in at LNC.

Well, I live in Bethany and drive the 40 minutes 14-16 times a season to watch the girls play. Had the same seats now for 14 years, since I quit coaching. I take a little different approach. I am an OU fan, not an alumni. Regardless, I enjoy women's basketball and will continue my support of the girls. It is entertainment for me, and keeps me involved with the game. That is the point, it is a game. At the same time am I happy where the program is at right now? No, but I will continue to voice my opinion from time to time for whatever that is worth ( not much), and make the drive from late October to March and support the gals.
