I wonder if they are getting uneasy? Hearing from other schools about transfer? Anything like that?

Anyone know?

I know they are working out about every day. I have no idea how they feel.

Because Demarco dropped his keys.

I would rather keep an interim head coach for a whole flippin year than give some of the potential candidates out there a minimum 3 years to hold our program down.

Has any team ever done this? Just not hired a new head coach going into the next season?

It would probably be a PR nightmare having "no head coach", but from an administrative stand point it's probably the ideal thing to do when you're making such a huge investment. Save money and ensure you're getting a quality hire. OU can get a great hire with the right timing, which it doesn't seem to be right now. You keep the job open long enough and the right situation will present itself. A few weeks is a really small window.

Recruiting would be impossible, just impossible.
