Maybe all the exclamation marks confused me, but I am still trying to figure out how Travis Ford will help him "get to the league" with his "proven" system. How many players has Travis Ford got to the league so far with this proven system?
 
I noticed he has Ford as a contact and the others just the number called from.

Exactly Gimper. Zero recruits to the NBA with his proven system- the proven system that makes the NCAA once every three or four years.
 
James Anderson he coached for 2 out of 3 years. He improved each of those years.

Marcus Smart, Brown, and Nash will all be on NBA teams for at least 1 season.
He's been OSU's head coach for 5 years. The teams he coached before were not ones were he could've accumulated much NBA talent at all.

While at OSU in his first 6 years - he will have most likely gotten 4 guys he coached to go on to the NBA.

That is amazing considering his first recruiting classes were a reach for talented but troubled guys to fill holes. The program was in the pits. His effort on the recruiting trail has brought in guys who can win basketball games on a consistent basis. The level this team reaches this year will determine how good of an in-game coach Ford really is. Up to now..he is average in-game coach but a excellent with his relationship with his players that buy in and on the recruiting trail.

Funny thing about coaches pimping their proven systems!! … most of the guys they point to would've had the same or similar success at most schools. Marcus Smart isn't going to the NBA because of anything Ford did.
 
Maybe it's just me, but Travis Ford was the only one who came across as a snake oil salesman. That guy is an embarrassment to the state of Oklahoma.

You're probably right for the most part.
But I don't think the players that he coaches think about it like that. They all seem to truly enjoy playing for Coach Ford...

Ford is also the only coach in those tweets who didn't come across as a professional. Reminds me of his "caught on camera" childish act of booing an official last season.

If recruits are attracted to head coaches who are on or below their maturity level, OSU is where they need to be.
 
What cracks me up is how incessant OSU fans were regarding the class of Eddie Sutton and Pat Jones compared to Barry, Kelvin, and Billy. I can remember many a post complaining about Kelvin's "antics" on the sideline compared to Saint Eddie.

Well now they have the biggest "child", crybaby coach in the Big 12, and wala!, now those behaviors and attitudes are deemed acceptable to the fanbase.

I would be embarrassed to have Travis Ford at Oklahoma. End of story.

Except for the copious amount of players that have transferred under Ford's tenure.

I agree and I think you could say this about former OUj (or Missouri) players that made the NBA too.
 
Terrell Harris has hung around the league and has got some championships. Another player that improved under Ford.

He'll get 3 more this season...Cobbins next season according to some mock drafts. I haven't seen a coach get under your guys skin like this since about 2004.

So if I understand correctly Gimper. One must have recruited the player in order to say he helped them get to the league? That really doesn't make sense. Now if were talking about one year of coaching a guy who is a senior or junior before declaring, then I'll agree with you.

Luckily Ford isn't out to impress rival schools fans.
 
To the OSU fans: do you truly respect Travis Ford? I know you support him because he is your guy and I get that, but do you truly, honestly respect the man?
