Drive the lane and kick out for 3

Exactly! I have no problem with the drive and dish, particularly when Jordan is the one doing it. Spangler had a couple of shots blocked early in the game, and he played scared from that point on.

As you correctly stated, the best way to neutralize a shot blocker's effectiveness is to take it right at him and force the officials to make a call. Try to avoid him and you're playing right into the post defender's hands.

Ryan and Cam have to continue to be in an attack mode by using their quickness and athleticism to their advantage. Ryan, in particular, missed several opportunities to score inside or get fouled by passing the ball back out to the perimeter. I hope our coaches work on that in practice.

If you're going to shoot with a shot blocker in range, yes it's best to jump into him to neutralize his ability to time a jump and block the shot. But if you kick it out for a wide open three, he has zero chance to block that shot.

We drove the lane several times in the early going. We got hit a few times with no call from the refs and I think our guys realized that they weren't going to be able to finish or get to the line against Austin. I wish they hadn't quit doing it but I understand why they did.

Yep, you can only drive it so many times and get your shot blocked, or be forced into a bad shot, before it becomes smart to stop doing that.

Baylor was a terrible matchup inside for us. If we could have defended them better, we could have ran more, and got some better looks that way.

Ironically enough, the best finish at the rim of the game by OU was Woodard against Austin. When he did that, I couldn't help but wonder why others couldnt. Cam and Spangler looked scared everytime they had the ball in the paint.

Agreed
