Just read on Soonersport that Edwards signed. Sherri is quoted as saying she is athletic and competitive and will be a point guard.

Sounds good to me.

I am probably most interested in seeing the Carter kid play. I have heard and read things that make me think she is a lot better than what some think or better than her rankings. I was told she would have had a lot better stats but just deferred to her teammates too much. I don't think Sherri will let her defer, but rather make her be as good as she can be. We'll see. In any event, she is described as athletic, competitive and skilled. Sounds like the Edwards kid. I just like kids with a little moxie, and Edwards and Carter might bring that to the team.

This signing intrigues me, for several reasons. From what I've read, Edwards is primarily a defensive player who likes to guard the other team's star, a ballhawk. At 5-5?

I have asked those who have seen her if she has offensive skills or whether her points are all off steals and layups. I base that on what I've read which never mentions her shooting or anything offensive. Williams was the offensive star---or was she?

Is she coming as a potential starter or as a defensive player who can disrupt the other team?

It also intrigues me that when everyone is clamoring for forwards, Sherri recruits an additional player---a 5-5 guard.

Sherri said she offered Edwards to add depth at the point. That indicates to me that she felt the other guards are not what she is looking for at the point, other than Morgan.
