Going to be imporant that everyone is efficient, but especially Buddy because he normally gets the most shot attempts. Although his point total was nice Wednesday, hes 9-29 in the tournament. The difference between good and elite in multiple areas ( buddy's draft stock, our season, etc ) will be determined in part by efficiency. IF, and say IF, we keep turnovers in single digits, we shoot 45-50 %, and somebody unexpected comes up clutch ( DJ yesterday) then i say the Badgers are roadkill.

You can add Walker to your "comes up clutch" list. He has played really well in this tournament so far.

I agree that efficiency is an important ingredient to our success this season. That's especially true with Buddy, who did not have his best game yesterday. But, looking on the bright side, we beat a good Butler team when arguably our best player shot 2-10 from the field (1-8 from three), finishing with 5 points, well below his season average.

That's what great defense (the best I have seen in sometime) can do when our offense is not firing on all cylinders.

Im so thankful for Walker, having two lead guards that we can trust to do the job feels so good , he could start on plenty of decent d-1 teams

Sampson taught me that good defense and rebounding will get you wins against teams that are better than you. And as Barry said, "If you cant score, you cant win". Call me a defensive nut.

Agreed.

Unless you are consistently getting UK/Duke/KU type talent, you have to play defense. I've been pretty darn impressed with our D the last two games, and the first half of that Creighton game.

Yeah, me too! In retrospect, the second half of the Creighton game could have been a blessing in disguise, because it served as a wake up call for what happens when you don't play solid D in both halves.

The last two games are also proof that you can still win games by playing good defense when your shots aren't falling.
