Elijah Thomas tamu transfering

I think theyll be phone calls made but I dont know if there is mutual interest. I could see Ohio St. Thats where Austin Grandstaff is...

Don't play right away on a good team just transfer. Now there might be other circumstances, but kids need to get over themselves and compete for playing time.

I doubt if a Top 50 recruit coming out of high school will have much trouble in finding a home. Okie State or SMU was on his recruiting list, so that might be a good place for him if he wants to stay close to home. They were also among the schools he visited.

Rivals.com shows he had an OU offer. Could that mean he might have an interest in landing in Norman? A 6' '9" 250 guy could be just the ticket if we don't sign Marques Bolden, which appears to be unlikely now.

Between Thomas and Austin Nichols of Memphis, the transfer market has some nice talent at the forward spot already. If our staff worries about post depth after Spangler graduates, we could do worse than either of those guys. Both top-50 talents in their HS classes. Nichols averaged 13.3 ppg as a sophomore under Pastner.

***update***
Nichols has already stated intent to transfer to UVA. Oh well...

Austin Nichols transferred to Virginia back in June

Thomas would be eligible after the first semester next season.

I saw him play on TV in the State Tournament last year. He was big and about 25 pounds too heavy. He was a little slow, but had good offensive foot work and skills

It would be nice if OU could get in on him. Landing him wouldn't effect Bolden's decision. And if we needed the scholarship, we could always put Cole on academic scholarship.
