The Jayhawks, even with these losses, will likely be picked to win their 11th straight Big 12 title. Perry Ellis, Wayne Selden, Nadiir Tharpe, Frank Mason, Jamari Taylor and Conner Frankamp are among the expected returnees. They'll be joined by a recruiting class highlighted by five-star prospects Kelly Oubre and Cliff Alexander, the latter of whom is a 6-9 center who was recently named the Naismith High School National Player of the year.

I need to go check out video on Oubre and Alexander.

Now they also have Embiid's spot to sell Myles Turner. A lot of people think Texas has him locked up. Not sure if I'd rather see him at Kansas or Texas.

If Tharpe and Frankamp play as poorly as they did for most of this season, the KU guard play is not amazing. I would love for Seldon to go pro (he really had pretty good games against us....especially in Norman).

Thy are still the favorites, but I think they are beatable.

Depends on who they bring in next year. You can't count Self out. I like our chances to win the Big 12 next year with our guard play. But again can't count out ISU and never count out Self.

What? I thought Myles Turner was OSU bound. :D

I agree that KU will be the favorite to repeat as the conference champs. Self doesn't rebuild, he just reloads every year.

Our best opportunity for an upset will be when we play them in Norman. We may be a year away from a legitimate shot. But with the improvement in our post depth and our size, I like our chances better than last season.

They are absolutely the favorites. Are they likely to be beatable? Probably. But they are definitely the favorites.

Can't forget about the SF Green. Didn't play much this year but 6'7 and can stroke. Gotta beat the champs to be the champs.

The biggest thing that will keep them beatable (like this year) is their guards. Especially their 1's and 2's. Just not very impressive. I think Oubre is their starting 3, and he likely won't be as good as Wiggins. Don't know a ton about Alexander, but he can't be the imposing figure that Embiid was. Getting Turner would certainly help their bench, whether he is there, or he pushes somebody else (Alexander?) there.

Selden is coming back.

We will beat them @ Phog in my lifetime.

Am I missing something? How will OSU not be the clear favorite? Ford as coach, all the talent he is recruiting. The success they had this year being the pick to win the conference and even win the whole tournament as an 8 seed. This is a team on the rise!!!

Ok, Ok I'm sorry for picking on the little brother!!

WT. If they bring in Turner, Im assuming he is starting... Best center in HS right now...?

You neglected to mention Marcus Smart's intangibles, which are powerful enough to supercharge oswho remotely from the NBA.

Embiid tweeted that he hasn't made a decision yet.
