Encouraging Win!

crazy stat line...

isu - 2 pt FG 11/40....3 pt FG 16/31

On top, I argued with Stik...isu isn't your typical 0-8 conf team. 2-10 overall (before OU) 6/10 losses are to ranked teams, and osu..which will be ranked (so 7/10). Ya ms state and ksu (in ames) are bad along with a SDST early in the yr.

It was a win. Great...no but still a win.

This is a really tough crowd.

LOL

It continues to amaze me how some on this board pounce on the least little bit of criticism. Actually it blows my mind. After the win yesterday, I’ve commented on numerous threads profusely complimenting various aspects of the win. I love that OU won. It was a hard fought, in some ways an ugly, win. It was definitely far from perfect. How is it so hard for you to understand that people might want to discuss maybe some less than perfect(putting it nicely) aspects of the game on a freaking message board? Things that will definitely get our ass beat against better teams? I don’t get it.

Well, I’m a fan of context. I do the same thing with losses. If it’s just black and white then you’d say the team failed at Lubbock on Monday because a loss is a loss. For me, I thought that effort and their ability to play it so close was an encouraging sign.

To me, the context is that this is the sort of game OU might have easily lost in any of the last four seasons. I agree OU did not play its best game of the season. Moreover, ISU was completely out of its mind (especially from 3).

Over the course of a long CBB season, you're going to have games like that. Good teams find a way to win them. Average/bad teams do not. More than any single game performance, that's my take away from Saturday.

Sometimes it's as if we are in a library and we spoke above whisper level. It's in direct violation of accepted library code.

Shhhhhhhh! Keep it down a little. I’m watching a DVR recording of one of my favorite shows, “I Can See Your Voice.” :)

I've noticed there are plenty of other things you don't seem to "get." ;)

Also, I'd direct you to Zimwillet's post directly below your own.

Good point.

You've probably forgotten more about basketball than any of us will ever know, combined. Thanks for letting me still hang around.. I'll try to be a sponge!

Well I guess I "got" that, huh? :)

What you "got"(have) is too much sensitivity to fans criticizing OU basketball on an OU basketball message board. If I were you, i'd try to "get" a little more used it. :chestram2:

Then again, one could say that a number of posters are too sensitive about receiving pushback on their negative posts on an OU message board. And 'round and 'round we go...

In my life, I’ve found that those who are first to criticize are often soft af when the criticism gets redirected back at them.

I've been analyzed and advised (for free, I hope) – all in one short paragraph. I'm fine with that; my wife's been doing the same for almost 48 years.

I've been told "honesty is the best policy." Whether a post is positive or negative is irrelevant as long as it is an honest take. With honesty you have checks and balances and when people are full of it you don't. Yup!

Mad respect to you. Props to you both for that, and I hope you and your beautiful wife have many more!
