ESPN Reseeds the Sweet 16

Here's how I rank them:

1. Kentucky
2. Duke
3. 'Sconsin
4. Arizona
5. Gonzaga
6. Wichita State
7. Notre Dame
8. Michigan State
9. Oklahoma (yes, I understand Michigan State and we are in the same region and we're the higher seed)
10. Louisville
11. North Carolina
12. West Virginia
13. Xavier
14. NC State
15. Utah
16. UCLA

Has anybody in the tourney won basically a road game in the tournament?

OU and Wichita State. The Shockers were well represented in Omaha, but it looked on tv like they were outnumbered 3:1 by Kansas fans.

I put us 6th or 7th, the rest of your rankings are about right. Utah should be higher.

Michigan State is a slightly less talented version of us. Doesn't mean we'll win for sure.

MSU beating Virginia was not an upset. The team with superior talent and pedigree won.

We will have our hands full with MSU. They will be the second best team we played all year after Wisconsin.

When people were whining about playing Dayton in Ohio I said if we can't beat them we're not very good. Well we beat them so we "might" be very good. Now I'm saying it could go either way against mighty Michigan State who 1,000 out of 1,000 objective analysts would agree is the stronger overall program. Looking forward to watching. Will never be a blind homer.

You do know that Michigan State lost to KU earlier in the season, right?

They just happened to have started to get on a roll recently. Not sure how Izzo continues to that so often.

I'd put Arizona over Wisconsin right now ... kinda like ...
1. Kentucky
2. Duke
3. Arizona
4. Gonzaga
5. Wisconsin
6. Wichita State
7. Notre Dame
8. Mich State
9. Louisville
10. NC State
11. UNC
12. Utah
13. OU
14-16. UCLA/Xavier/WVU

I'm not as high on Louisville, nc state or UNC as you all are. They have been as inconsistent as OU or more so.

Now it's time to reseed the Sweet 16. This list is based on the competition that each team has faced and its respective performance through the first weekend.

The rankings are based on the opponents and how the teams played. OU beat a 14 and an 11 and did not look especially impressive doing it. How any of the teams performed during the regular season does not enter into it.

Ummm, how many teams led from start to finish like OU did in their 1st round game? That wasn't a nail biter like a number of other teams seeded above them in this format had in the first round including UNC and ND. And then ND went into OT for their next win.

We split the series, finished a game ahead of them in the league and a game ahead of them in the big 12 tournament. To put them 6 spots ahead of us is silly.

They didn't have Staten and Clark for several games at the end of the season, including the B12 tourney. That's like OU playing without Hield and Cousins.

Silly is the wrong word to use here.

I have changed your nickname to wvubruin. Funny how even our own fans think we're the 15 best team left in the field ... OU is always the underdog, even with its own fans.

So we earn a 3 seed after 30+ regular season games and after two wins in the NCAA tournament we are reseeded to the 15th best team behind numerous teams that earned seeds much lower than ours, silly is the nicest word for it. Can you remember anything that happened over 72 hours ago?

The "article" is a joke and those acting like it has any legitimacy are an even bigger joke.

Mich State is playing their best basketball of the year now. Back when KU beat them others had too. Tough match up for us, but here is hoping we make layups and don't turn it over as much on Friday night??

I suppose if that's the sole criteria I can't argue too much. I can certainly understand why an outside observer might come away underwhelmed with OU's performance this weekend. But I think judging teams based solely on a two game sample is a flawed method.

Again, none of this matters one bit. OU can beat Michigan State if they play a great game for 40 minutes. If not, they'll be cooling their heels in Norman starting Saturday. It's really that simple.

I enjoy watching basketball and analyzing the teams from as objective a position as possible. You act like this re-seeding article really matters when the games are being played. It doesn't.

I just happen to think WVU, when playing at full strength is a darn good team and ranking them higher than OU is not a "silly" notion.

Seems childish that anytime a poster offers an objective opinion, they have their "fanhood" questioned.

It's funny, within the last 30 days, Michigan State lost to a very poor Minnesota team at home and played really tight games with middling teams like Purdue and Indiana (they very nearly brain farted the game @ Indiana away). Plus, it's not like they just ran either Georgia or Virginia out of the gym.

I don't deny that Michigan State is playing great basketball right now, and will be, by far, the toughest team OU has played in the tournament yet. But I find it amusing that some fans are willing to overlook these little SNAFUs for OU's opponents, but give OU no quarter for similar failings.

WVU lost to Texas by 27 the game after blowing us out. They've had their inconsistencies also. The Baylor and WVU games were the only games in conference play we were blown out of. We could have easily won every other conference game we lost. That is why we are a 3 seed.
