ESPN Reseeds the Sweet 16

I place MSU up there mostly because of Izzo ... and because of his style and then Trice's talent.

I certainly think we can beat MSU if we play well.

WVU lost to Texas by 27 the game after blowing us out. They've had their inconsistencies also. The Baylor and WVU games were the only games in conference play we were blown out of. We could have easily won every other conference game we lost. That is why we are a 3 seed.

WVU probably had the worst travel schedule in the nation. They wore down.

The WVU team from yesterday looked fresh like the one that slaughtered us. They just might make Kentucky sweat if they can get them in a hurry. If Kentucky has the patience to just throw the ball over the top they won't have any problem.

I've watched both WVU games and they look really strong. Very impressive.

without Anderson playing up to par UVA is just not that talented - in terms of basketball skills that is. They have some nice athleticism and they play GREAT defense. But they don't have the basketball skills that many of the field has - like MSU for example.

I enjoy watching basketball and analyzing the teams from as objective a position as possible. You act like this re-seeding article really matters when the games are being played. It doesn't.

I just happen to think WVU, when playing at full strength is a darn good team and ranking them higher than OU is not a "silly" notion.

Seems childish that anytime a poster offers an objective opinion, they have their "fanhood" questioned.

I'm saying that, if you truly looked at the seasons and performances over the last few weeks objectively, you would not have ranked OU as 15. We are 12-3 in our last 15 games against some very good teams in tough environments. Our three losses were tight games in road environments, two of which we had a chance to win or send into overtime.

Over that same span, MSU is 12-4 with a home losses to Minnesota and Illinois. West Virginia is 8-6 over that same time period.

We didn't play as well as Michigan State did yesterday ... but that doesn't mean anything for the next game. As a team, over the course of the season and especially the last half of the season, OU has played better than the 15th team left in this tournament for the last two months, not just the last two games.

... Again, none of this matters one bit. OU can beat Michigan State if they play a great game for 40 minutes. If not, they'll be cooling their heels in Norman starting Saturday. It's really that simple.

True that. Also, to put this into perspective, think back to the beginning of this season and our expectations. A Sweet-16 with the opportunity to advance even further meets or exceeds most of our expectations.

To those that denigrate OU's accomplishment, look back at what Dayton did as an eleven seed last year (2014).

Beat #6 Seed Ohio State, 60-59
Beat #3 Seed Syracuse, 55-53
Beat #10 Seed Stanford in Sweet-16, 82-72
Lost to #1 Seed Florida in Elite-8, 52-62

Also, consider the teams that are NOT in the Sweet-16 today:

#1 Villanova
#2 Kansas
#2 Virginia
#3 Baylor
#3 Iowa State
#4 Maryland
#4 Georgetown

2015: Seven of the Top-16 seeds did NOT make the Sweet-16.
2014: Six of the Top-16 seeds did NOT make the Sweet-16.

As an OU fan, I could not be any more happy right now since OU IS IN THE SWEET-16. I'm as happy as a hog feeding at a trough filled with Braunschweiger.

BEAT THE SPARTANS!

I watched a lot of Michigan State and I haven't seen athleticism with them like I have other Michigan State teams. They are good, and playing by far their best ball. But they were looking about even athletically with some very average Big 10 teams. They are playing their best ball now though, and we have to play well to win. But that's true with any NCAA team left standing.

Mich State is playing their best basketball of the year now. Back when KU beat them others had too. Tough match up for us, but here is hoping we make layups and don't turn it over as much on Friday night??

So is OU

You guys might be right, but I am still holding the line: OU is 12-3 in its last 15 games with two road losses by a combined 5 points where last second shots decided the game and and a 7 point road loss where we led by 21.

Michigan State has been inconsistent, losing two home games to non tournament teams down the stretch. I think they're playing pretty evenly.

Free throws and turnovers should be strengths. MSU turns the ball over more than opponents, and OU forces a lot of turnovers. If we can win the turnover and free throw battle, hold tight on the boards, we'll have a shot.

Do our guards make jump shots...that is OU's key. No different than any other game this season.
