What do you call that? A "motionless motion" offense?

Kelvin doesn't cringe at bad offense. He loves it.

I like Krugers offense much better than Kelvins. I just wish we didnt shoot so many 20 foot jumpers.

Me, too. But when everyone but Osby hangs around the perimeter and refuses to take the ball inside, what else is there?

At what point are OU fans going to stop bashing some of Kelvin's bad offensive games?

Kelvin had some. Capel had some stinkers. LK has had some. It's called basketball. Most teams have them at times. Billy Tubbs had them, but they were hidden by the fact that a bad offensive game for his teams was scoring 90, instead of 120, due to pace and style.

Back in Kelvin's day, many OU fans thought it was an insignificant accomplishment to win 20+ games year-in-and-year-out, and to go Dancin' almost every year.

Now, after 3 years of conference records of 4-12, 5-11, and 5-13; maybe "winning ugly" will come into vogue.

Winning at a high level and consistently staying in the Top-25 is not easy. Over 25 years or so, Billy and Kelvin spoiled us. They made it look easy. I don't know about the rest of you, but I do not take any win for granted at this point.

I think Coach Kruger will be fine. It appears that his focus is on the long term. He is giving 3 freshman guards a combined 60+ minutes per game, and he is redshirting players for the future benefit of those players, and the long-term benefit of the program.

In the meantime we should continue to support the program, and show some patience with the rebuilding process. Also in the meantime, let's try to enjoy the victories when they happen, and also enjoy the development of the younger players.

NOTE (1) - We should EXPECT to see clear IMPROVEMENT in the quality of play from this 2012-13 OU team as the season goes on. OU needs to win more than 5 or 6 conference games. I bet they do.

NOTE (2) - I think Coach Kruger is a good coach, but I do not believe that Coach Kruger is as good as Coach Tubbs or Coach Sampson. I hope I am wrong.

Guess I'm in the minority, I didn't mind our offense under Kelvin. I knew every night we were going to attack the boards with a vengeance so when we shot like crap we'd still have a shot at winning.

Yep. I never complained about KS's offense because I always realized how scrappy we were, and how good OUr defense always was. We rarely were out of any game because we played D and rebounded.

I'm not feeling Kruger's approach. It's based on defense and the run and jump high pressure approach doesn't work on skilled teams. I hope his philosophy isn't bringing in these nice looking athletes that pass the eye test and passing up guys who can put the ball in the basket.

OU's offense looks bad because they don't have people that can score.
