Most years, the Texas team rolls into Shawnee for the annual Faith 7 Basketball Bowl with a slew of Division I college prospects, but Oklahoma has reversed the trend for this year’s renewal of the game.
The 51st annual Faith 7 Bowl is set to tip off at 7 p.m. Saturday at Oklahoma Baptist University. It will be highlighted by a star-studded Oklahoma roster that includes players who signed with Division I schools, and others who had D-I offers.
The roster includes four players from The Oklahoman’s Super 5, Kristian Doolittle of Edmond Memorial (Oklahoma), Mustang’s Jakolby Long (Iowa State), Southeast’s Dashawn McDowell (SMU) and Edmond North’s Tre Evans.
Evans had signed with Old Dominion, but asked to be released from his letter of intent and will play at Kilgore Junior College in Texas.
Oklahoma also has D-I signees Kellen Manek of Harrah (ORU) and Marcus Dickinson Jr. of Norman North (Boise State).
