I saw this day coming...unfortunate because I believe with just a little more effort with recruiting from 2005-2013 things could have been different. Three years and no cutting of nets. Strategic recruiting is a never ending process regardless of how great the recruiting years you had in the past may have been. It has to continue to expect success.

There is no mistaking what the expectation has become after three seasons without adding to their trophy case.

“There’s history here and you want to be a part of it,” senior Aaryn Ellenberg said. “We don’t want to be the only class to not cut down a net.”

Again...maybe there can be a miracle on Jenkins street.

If Soonerbay's views were anywhere close to reality, we'd have been in about 8th place in the conference the last 3 years.

I usually love optimism, but I just doomed and gloomed it up on SF.com, because that's what our current record is: Four losses, all before the conference season kicks off Thursday.

Because I'm a fan, I always have hope and optimism that things will turn around and the Sooners can pull off miracles, and I've witnessed them firsthand before (a 6th seed in the Big 12 tourney winning? And getting to beat hatred whorn UT in the championship game too?!?).

But, it's crunch time. We can't afford anymore unranked opponent losses, road or home. We're in the top 25 at this point on program reputation alone, not because of anything that we've done this season.

It is time for everyone to go all in and step up big time, so that this class has a banner to hang, a net to cut down, a trophy to polish, a championship ring to wear, you name it, I want it for these girls. They're great players and great people and their hard work warrants it. Alas, their current record warrants very little optimism for the rest of the season.

Boomer Sooner anyway, but four losses pre-conference is a tough hurdle to overcome.

It seems that the coaches that recruit strategically, in a way where they always have "war tested" players on the team...players that have experience in winning the conference, winning the conference tourney and going deep into the tournament...experience more consistent success.

Experience has always been the best teacher.
