I wonder since he decommitted from Alabama if Kruger will go after him. We have a scholarship and we could use him way more than we need Bolden. Since he's from Dallas, it might not be a long shot. Perfect time to pounce on a Dallas kid with the season we are having.

What? We have a plethora of guards for next year. What we don't have, and have only had maybe once or twice since 2002-ish, is a potentially dominant big man.

Bolden over just about anybody at this point is better for OU.

From what I hear there's no reason to get our hopes up. Now they may have reached out but KU is a possibility

Bolden would be much more needed.

WT and I agree on something

Wouldn't be surprised if he has credit issues. He's not great. He disappears a lot. His family is from Tulsa though. His grandma is sick.

We already have a center in Lattin, Manyang, and McNease. Not saying Bolden isn't better but what we definitely don't have is a 6'7 dominant small forward.

We only have 2 starters returning and one is a center and you are telling me that Bolden is more needed at center than replacing Buddy Hield at the 3?

None of our returning guards(besides Woodard who will most likely run point) have proven anything yet. The 3 guys we know for sure are going to start next year is Woodard, Buford and Lattin and you are telling me that Bolden is needed more than Ferguson?!?! I totally disagree.

They want to move Lattin to the 4, Buford would back him up and they would play alongside when we go small. Bolden is by far the most important one for this team.

I don't know that that is what they "want", but it's what they would do if we land Bolden.

I just remember reading in an earlier article where Kruger said that Lattin will be a huge factor on offense next year by taking guys off the dribble and getting more shots from the perimeter. Not sure if that will be from the 4 or 5, but like you said it probably depends on whether or not OU gets Bolden.

Yep. In the likely case that we don't land Bolden, Buford will start alongside Lattin.

The plan has always been for Lattin to eventually move to the 4, if possible. It depended on his development and how the roster shaped up. It just might not be possible unless Bolden came.

I've always enjoyed Lattin's def presence, minus his sometimes nack for fouls, trying to block everything...

but I was impressed with his couple of short jumpers against bu, and he hit his first 2 FT's...:woot

He has good motion on his shot, so I could see him stepping out and hitting some, maybe not 3's like Spangler...but def pulling the bigs out a bit.

I think Buford is starting next year no matter if we land Bolden or not. Who starts at the 5 will depend how much Lattin develops and how good Bolden is.

Buford will be the guy that makes the biggest leap from year one to year two with Spangler gone. He's similar to Osby.

That four spot gets pretty crowded with Lattin, Buford, Freeman, and Doolittle.

You just named 2 guys that most likely won't even see the floor next year. The post rotation is going to be Lattin, Buford, McNease and Manyang. With a few minutes here and there for one of those 2 freshmen. Kruger doesn't go deep with his post rotation. He's only playing 3 post players right now with McNease getting around 4 minutes a game. Buford is going to get Spangler minutes next year.
