OK Bigabd (mr. juco) and recruiting guru's...

We have 2 signed correct? Taylor and Clark, both out of Sherman/Denison...

What are some impact guys we are in on that can fill a much needed Gap in the Frontcourt with some size and athleticism (Juco)...not looking for guys to come in and score much, i think we have guys that can score...

Also i think it was you abd that was talking about a back up PG, what about those prospects in the juco ranks?

Not really interested in true frosh's right now, just guys that can step in and fill a gap...i think we have a decent foundation with these freshmen but the other pieces are needed badly for depth and immediate impact (defense/hustle/experience/toughness)...

does anyone think it is possible to get 3 juco guys? or is that too many?

Don't they absolutely have to get 3 jucos with two of them being post players?

I think Capel has a huge concern with figuring out who is returning. Tiny Gallon has mentioned leaving, WW has been presumed to be leaving all season. The transfer of Hardrick and/or Willis seems possible if not probable.

It seems like Capel could have anywhere from 4 scholarships (assuming WW, TMG, GAllon, Pledger, Davis, Fitzgerald, Allen, Hardrick, and Willis all return) to 7 or 8 (assuming WW, Gallon and one of Hardrick/Willis are gone - 8 if both Hardrick and Willis are gone).

I would have to agree, especially if WW and/or Gallon leaves.

I agree Denver, that's why I posed the question about who is out there...this is a must if this team plans on competing next yr...if not we will be in a very similiar position with freshmen playing significant minutes...

I've seen enough developing to last me 10 yrs...time for production...

Great questions fellas, and that's what really has me worried. I've heard the same names that you all have, but only one fits our need (Aziz), and I would have thought that he would have given us some of idea of a committment...

Here's my real question...What happens when we can't fill those spots, are we really going to have 7 scholarship players next year?? I can't imagine that it will get to that point, but I've been surprised by a lot this year...

http://rivals.yahoo.com/jucojunctio...s/rank-2526;_ylt=AmzKUr1NzlNA5wqDMqaO3LprWpB4

from this list it looks like the top guards unsigned are:

Kahlil McDonald
Sammy Yeager
Tyree Graham
Marquis Carter

all top 30, 3 from respectable programs (blinn, weatherford(tx) and three rivers)

Aziz is ranked 20 here...two guys in the top 5 are still unsigned at 6'8 and 6'9...and with the lists these guys have i would think we could come in and compete...

Why is it difficult finding out who OU is trying to sign in the late period?

You telling me we cannot recruit with the likes of GEORGIA STATE for someone like Eric Buckner? I love what Capel has done recruiting-wise to get some of the elite guys that haven't been considering Oklahoma in the past to give OU a serious look and to get some of the McDonald's All-American-type kids to actually come to OU. I have been SORELY disappointed in the work ethic, attitude and desire in some of the kids currently on the roster. The problem I have is this:

We have passed on a few kids who supposedly WANTED to be here in order to go hard after a few kids we WISHED would come here. I coach basketball for a living and I would MUCH rather have a team full of kids who have talent but might be a little LESS talented then others but really hungry, hard-wrking, very coachable kids. Those are the BEST kids to coach, most fun to be around, and the easiest to get to achieve more. Give me 10-15 kids who over achieve every day than 10-15 under achieving kids any time and I will be:

1) happy

and

2) successful

Coach Capel is a good coach who is obviously a good recruiter. We just don't have solid leadership with guys who just plain outwork other guys like we did with Taylor Griffin.

I have no problems with taking an occasional flyer on a big guy either...but you can't have a team full of guys you are taking a flyer on....you have to have a couple of bigs that you know can play...period.
