Fire Porter Moser

If he thinks Houston is poor... we don't have a Tillman Fertitta or the family foundation of one of America's largest asset managers giving to our basketball program.
We have Carlos Slim...if Denny wants to bring him. Kelvin as HC, Kellen as HC in Waiting, Najera as figurehead GM, and Slim as the Randall Stephenson of the basketball program.

I don't understand Kelvin's point. He says his players are getting their market value, but the NIL is poor? I thought Fertitta had more money than some countries? I've been thinking that besides Kelvin, that is why they've had so much success recently... I don't know if I really believe him.

For those that have already moved on to our coaching search this offseason, Jerrod Calhoun went into New Mexico and knocked off Eric Olen and the lobos last night. Two really good teams and a very impressive win for the Aggies.

In addition to everything else he sucks at, it's remarkable that it seems like his plan is to only sign one high school kid this class. Am I missing someone other than Mayfield? I get it, the portal is the main priority these days, but one high school recruit? On the heels of a class that only yielded, essentially, one high school recruit?

And speaking of, I was among the posters who got a ton of grief in the summer and fall for suggesting that Kai wouldn't be an impact player this season and may not see the floor much once conference came around. Granted, he likely would be playing more if we hadn't added Kirill, but then again, if the staff felt good about where Kai was, they likely wouldn't have added Kirill knowing that it would severely reduce Kai's playing time.

At this point, I have no clue whether Kai will ever be a good power conference player. Our wonderful coach and his revolving door of 700 assistants have been so bad developing bigs that it's impossible to know what Kai could be if he ends up with a real staff. The lesson, as always -- don't ever buy into the hype, no matter what Moser says, and no matter how much some of our "insiders" buy into it.

Damn I meant to watch that and totally forgot. Thanks for the update.

I think his point may be that while they have been able to afford guys thus far (likely due to Fertitta), their overall athletic department budget makes him worried that they eventually won't be able to keep up, especially now that they are good enough that plenty of elite high school players are interested in going there.

This. The basketball program is fine. Kelvin spends a lot of time raising money. They also have Fertitta and others behind them.

Their overall athletic department is poor.

He is asking for more money by putting on a circus show..

I'm a Kelvin fan, but this is ridiculous. They signed three 5* kids last year, and kept Sharp and Uzan. They aren't hurting for money. Strange of him to make this comment.
No it's not. Hes simply fund raising for more

Sampson wants a natty.. I hope he doesnt get caught cheating somehow in his quest to do it

I can't wait to see Loser be a high school coach lol.
Haha, I’m curious to see where he ends up. There was one poster who used to swear that Moser was considered a very good coach where he was from. Indysooner maybe

Sounds like him. He gobbles the sunshine.

But honestly, there prolly still are a lot that think hes good. Thats why I want him to earn his 18 game losing streak and go 11-21 (i want the narrative to be HE SUCKS, not the OU JOB SUCKS).

BUTTTT we do want someone to be suckered into employing the moron for potential offset purposes..

I think he will find a job. There are people who will think he can win at the mid-or-low major level. His salary will be lower. but with his buyout only being a few million, even a salary of a couple million will make it very manageable.

Best case scenario for him is a job in the Missouri Valley. He could also end up in the Summit League or the Ohio Valley.

Hope he gets it. More importantly for us, I hope he's no longer our coach in five weeks.

But for his 2014-15 season at Loyola (where he went 24-13 and finished 6th in conference with his modus operandi of a losing conference record of 8-10), Porter Loser would have even been fired at Loyola and never would have randomly made a final 4 and become the biggest catfish coach in OU bball history. Crazy

Also, his prior winning record season as a HC prior to 2014 was all the way back in 2004-05 at Ill. State with a putrid 17-13 (where he also finished 6th in conference with his modus operandi of a losing conference record of 8-10). To be fair, he spent 5 years in between as an assistant.

Yeah, we want PM to get a good job as soon as possible. If the buyout is like most coaches' buyouts, his getting a better job reduces the payout on our end.

But to your point, the real key is that his process of needing another job begins no later than March 16th.
