Fire Porter Moser

Okay bud. I hope your Fan Police job pays well.
I love having my fandom questioned by people with pathetically low standards. I guess they’ve been asleep the last five years and unaware of our previous 40 year history of excellence. I’m not asking for the moon here. I want a well-coached, disciplined team that makes the tournament and wins some games there more often than not. I don’t think that’s too much to ask at a place like OU.

I would hope that our administration is not short-sighted enough to think that a couple of good weeks of basketball should absolve 5 seasons of mediocrity. I don't pretend to know the buyout details and everything else that goes along with that, but if this University wants continued horrible attendance/fan apathy, clueless scheduling and another mediocre season, then by all means....keep this joker.

My thoughts exactly

WE need at least one more quad 1 win to be truly on the bubble.
Or about five fewer NET 300 games to weigh us down.

Also, if the mentality is “save money so we can go sign more football players,” God help us. We are not that poor. We have more money than a lot of power conference athletic departments. I’m sick of the theory that we have to starve the basketball program to pay for a competitive football roster.

As bad as the ticket sales are this year, It will be worse next season if we keep moser. Hes been a complete failure and nothing has changed over the last 3 games. The program is going backwards every day moser is the coach. Keeping him will only make things worse next season. He will not suddenly become a better coach. We know exactly who he is and it’s not good enough. If you love the program and OU, how can you not see that? This is year 5. Enough already.

I don't think the NIL works like that. They aren't shuffling between sports annually based on which one "needs" more.

Football will have an NIL plan and NIL funds.
Basketball will have an NIL plan and NIL funds.
Same for the other sports.

That is what I plan to email Denny. I don't normally voice my opinion on such things, as I really don't think it will change much. But I want him to know there is a large chunk of the fan base that simply isn't going to support Moser any longer.

You speaking for a large chuck of the fan base is wild. But I like the confidence

I'll be sure and let him know you didn't want to talk about the team this year because you were "focused" on the team you coach. Coach or AD? Can never quite keep track of what you are calling yourself these days.

a little surprising that there are still a few moser fans around.
but then john blake had fans to the very end.
John Blake just wasn't good and shouldn't have been kept around it was the right move. This is not as bad as the Blake era but it isn't much better. I could see a move being made in the end we'll find out pretty soon as well. Whoever you have to get has to be in place almost right after the season to build a roster.

Not as bad as Blake, but this is the worst 5 year stretch of OU basketball failure in my lifetime. He's easily the worst basketball coach at OU since Bob stevens in 1967. He must be fired or we are admitting to the world that we don’t care about basketball and next season will be another lost season. The longer we wait, the longer the climb is back to where OU basketball belongs.

Those who called for his firing after the 9-game losing streak are being proven right. Mid-season firings aren't as widespread in hoops as in football, but this end-of-season streak just makes it harder to fire him in the end.

OU has to decide if it wants to be good in basketball. Otherwise, the bubble or a one and done in the tournament is the ceiling for the program.
