The issue, besides coaching, as been Wague and th center position. During the 9 game losing streak, Wague barely played. He was constantly in foul trouble. Would pick up 2 dumb fouls 90 seconds into every game. Also, Rogers has not improved at all and looks super slow and unathletic.

really only texas and then tamu and miss st .. were massive issues ..

And his game plan against Florida was the best (worst) example. We barely shot threes and instead tried to go at their great front court.

That's been his entire tenure.

No consistency within the season, or more so, season to season.

Atak plays well, then sits. Same with Jones. I mean, we kept winning when Atak was "benched" but it's more of a what are you trying to do Moser?

Rogers should have played more.

Should have focused on D more early in the season. Should have ran the offense through Pack and Brown earlier, instead of trying to force stuff through Reid and Davis. Wague should have shown more improvement, or we should have recruited over him.

You might be right WTSooner, but you are just guessing. We are spewing money at football right now trying to get to the top of the SEC in football. We literally fired athletic department personnel in order to build a football only front office. NIL for football is exponentially growing. I believe OU would disband men's basketball if necessary to properly fund a championship football team. In other words, our commitment to football could be impacting and preventing competitive financial commitment to basketball. But, this is my point. I doubt we know all there is to know about the financial issues. And, finances typically drive everything at OU and pretty much everywhere.

I have followed OU men's basketball since the late 60's and always will until I can't, regardless of who the coach has been, is or will be. So, I'm fine with OU keeping Moser or letting him go. I will watch OU on TV either way. If we ever get a new gym, I will likely go to most home games and watch the remainder. Just can't stand to watch a game at the Lloyd Noble. Everyone has their own reasons but for me the reason I don't buy tickets anymore relates solely to the gym and not Moser.

Like with most things, I would imagine that "money" will determine whether Porter is retained or let go. Not what you and I want OU to do. Could be wrong, but I don't imagine anyone on here really has a good handle on all the money issues that will drive the decision. Buyouts, expected season ticket sales, NIL cost issues and so forth.

Regardless of whether you want to move on from Porter or not, these are always really tough decisions. Some of you guys act like it isn't. The decision effects a lot of folks and not just Moser. We don't know about this year yet. In his first 4 years, he made the NCAA tournament once, and was the first team left out twice. Could and should have been in both of the narrow miss years. His first two years he did it with an amateur team that was competing in a professional sport. As much as some of you (and me sometimes) don't like his coaching, he hasn't been a bad coach considering the circumstances. He has been, as his record reflects, an average coach.

Just trying to be fair. JMO, and I know this is a minority position, but I would like OU to let him finish out his contract. If things don't improve next year, just don't retain him when his contract ends. If he knows that is going to happen, he will be motivated to find another job before losing this one. Getting fired negatively impacts your ability to find a new job. Much easier to get a job when you have a job. But, to each his own.

I mean, their financial statements are available to the public.

Outside of this year being bad because we didn't collect a full year of revenue from the SEC as part of getting out of the Big 12 early, we're fine. We're always a top 10 revenue producer, and you know Joe C. get the purse strings tight.

I also think you all are making assumptions about having a pull of NIL and just being willy-nilly about where it goes. They have plan. Amounts are allocated. They aren't sitting around the table deciding to steal NIL from basketball because football lost a couple of games to texas recently. That isn't how it works.

7-11 is 7-11. It isn't very good, but IDGAF if our longest losing streak was 9 games or 2. You can't talk about 0-9 without talking about 6-2. The midseason slump is a weird fixation point.

Maybe not the specifics, but OU has the money to buy out Moser and replace the staff if they want to. Period. If other, "lesser" schools can fire coaches and play 3x that much, OU can afford what would likely be less than $5M at the end of the day.

That said, do you remember it being financially burdensome for OU to move on from Capel or Kruger? I don't. And we're in a better spot with money now I'd imagine.

It's just part of doing business. The other sports aren't going to need to fire staffs anytime soon. Football before last season might have been a concern, but that situation righted itself quickly. They'll get to pay some if not all of the buyout stuff over a period of time (ie, don't have to have cash in hand today).

compare results from last year and this year......with much better players this year (on paper).

That’s fine. We’ll never know because we won’t pay for them, and that could be a problem when trying to hire his replacement.

He only played 16 minutes against scar and 13 against mizz. It was a big issue to not have him for at least half of the game time.

So 5.something to pm, 0.5 to slu, and then you gotta come up with 3-4isj for schertz. 8.5 - 9.5 before any assistants or players. And this is BEST case
