Fire Porter Moser

So 5.something to pm, 0.5 to slu, and then you gotta come up with 3-4isj for schertz. 8.5 - 9.5 before any assistants or players. And this is BEST case
All while on reduced SEC revenue.

If he makes tourney, we won't fire him. But the odds aren't in favor of that.

Coachtalk bc obviously dude slurps the admin, NorthCarolinaSooner, you also for one for wanting him back just for possibly making the tourney 2/5 times.. indysooner prolly. I bet that Canadasooner is bc we are 7th left out (at best rn) and that is now an achievement apparently for some of the bleeding hearts here lol
Dude....in the past I defended him but I have said I'm good with getting rid of him now.

My point was simply that getting rid of PM doesn't make our shortcomings disappear. It just passes them on to the next guy.

I've always said I hate PMs offense. I also hate his inbound plays. We have been mediocre at it since he's been here. We lose a lot of close games by simply turning the ball over on inbound plays in close games. It is frustrating.

Im not saying NIL is the only issue PM has but it plays a factor...especially when it comes to getting bigs..which is and has been a huge Achilles heel. Hopefully a new coach can solve that part.

If they get rid of him I just don't want it to drag out long after the season. Get it done and get someone new in.

I do think OU would be better this year with an additional $10 million in NIL regardless of coach. Maybe they get one or two of those coveted post players they have struck out on every year for once.
Every team would be better with an extra $10 million in NIL.

-This year's defense is the 3rd worst rated defense at Oklahoma since 1997. (Capel's last 2 years are worse) - Coaching effort is not hard
-In 3 of our last 6 wins, we shot over 54% from 3. (if we shoot season average, we lose those games)
-29th in 3P% while shooting 82nd in attempts. (even at our greatest strength we are not taking advantage of it)

What is our offensive identity? Moser still has not established that at OU. We play loose AAU motion.
Where is the 4-out/5 motion we were promised with a proper passing big man?
When you can count on a late game collapse EVERY GAME, not great.
His BLOB plays are atrocious.
His subbing patterns are too quick and atrocious.
His lineup changes game over game, are bad. Look at my moving average sub post.
Most talented roster for Moser? Worst defense for Moser. Lots of similarities to Capel.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when we hired him, heck, I gave him 3 years of optimism. Then we you see the same patterns over and over. The same lack of accoundability and consisteny AND he does it again with our most talented roster?

He just isn't it. He isn't a great coach. I am sure he is average and would love another mid-major shot. He just isn't a big league guy. We need someone who can be a big league guy.

Nailed it. We have more than enough data to declare who Porter moser is and who he is not. Hes an average coach and he’s not a big league guy. Hes not going to magically get better next season and buck the trends of his tenure. The only reason to keep him is if we can’t afford to fire him and I don’t think that’s an issue any longer.

The buyout can be paid over time and hiring a new staff has never been an issue even for OU basketball. The only problem would be raising NIL to a level attractive enough to hire the right coach. That is up to the donors and their appetite for OU basketball which obviously makes us all a little nervous.

Exactly. There is an old corporate adage, some people are born to be managers/directors, while others are born to be President/VPs. I think we know which category PM falls into.

Some of you guys are just brutal for a guy that has done a decent, albeit average, job. Just don't get the name calling.

Would love for you to explain how you could possibly label it average. Worst coach in almost half a century at OU as far as making the tourney, where we finish in the conference, overall record, conference record, the list goes on and on.
