I am here and ready to eat a big, heaping plate of crow. I am ready to see OU move on from Coach Moser.

But first, some brief context. As someone who works as a mental health & addictions worker, everyday I see people who have burned many bridges and our organization is the only thing between them and homelessness. I spent 6 years studying for this and have been in the field for 3+ years now. As a teenager, I stuck by a family member who was homeless because of physical and mental health issues when no one else would.

I realize Coach Moser probably makes a much better living than most, or all, of us and is not in dire circumstances by any means. I am too emotional and not logical enough sometimes and this has caused me to defend Coach Moser when the results have been indefensible. To me, giving up on people feels like a character flaw rather than a business decision. But in terms of ROI and wins relative to talent level, this is the worst season since 2009-2010 when we had Tommy Mason-Griffin, Willie Warren and Tiny Gallon. I wish Moser the best, but I am now fully ready to see OU relieve him of his duties.

Are you trying to say the Moser has mental health issues lol

Lol I am not sure if he does or not. But just based on his sideline demeanor and the fact that assistants leave often, it wouldn't surprise me if he deals with some anxiety and neuroticism.

Oh man…

not a good admission.
you're a supposed expert in your field.....but you admit you fail to recognize problems until it's too late.

I think this is good for your personal development. It was admirable that you tried to keep supporting but Porter Loser has shown his true colors at this point.

If I had to pick a college basketball HC to lose a game or I would die, I would pick Porter Loser 10/10 times and id say double it and give him 2 chances to lose in exchange for a reward to me. And Im confident I would 1000% be alive and flush with said reward

I wonder if the fact that we will have a new stadium in a couple years will actually buy Moser another year or two. Then, if things don't progress, OU makes a change when the job is more attractive due to our moving into a new stadium. OU might think that with the current stadium, and our continued work on giving the football team whatever it needs to move to the top of the SEC, they just keep the status quo in basketball. It might not be successful but it is cheap. Lowest paid coach, lowest paid roster, and lowest overall commitment might actually work to Moser's advantage. Then there is also the facts that OU avoids an expensive buyout, and maybe gets lucky with Moser finding another job due to a lack of confidence that he will have his job long term.

His buyout isn't expensive. It was ridiculous to extend him and he should already be gone, but the amount of the buyout is trivial.

It isnt, but it is. 5-6 million is a highest level starting QB (better than our current QB). If the contract has offset language (which it better) I'm not sure that Bum ass Moser will even be in line to land another job to trigger it

Despite what some on here seem to think, there will be no awards given for those who complained the loudest about Moser or who gave up the earliest.

Year 1 was respectable given the hand he was dealt.

Year 2 was an unmitigated disaster.

Year 3 was actually one of my favorite seasons to watch in a while for a team that didn't have Buddy or Blake. Really felt he was turning a corner and simply needed a quality 5 to do some damage in the tourney, but getting robbed of that tourney bid felt like it sealed his fate. That trio of guards was a blast. I was ready to move on after losing them, and it felt like a lame duck at that point.

Year 4, Fears breathed life into the program, but then we proceeded with our decade long tradition of shatting down our leg in conference play. Made the tourney, but Sampson could have won that many conference games with guys from the Huff.

This year we had enough wins in the offseason recruiting that it ALMOST got me to tune in. But I've seen this story play out too many times since Buddy's departure.

You get the award for taking the longest to throw in the towel though.

I agree with this analysis. Year three really felt like it could be special. Then the early loss to Texas at home happened.

I agree with this assessment. Year 2 was frustrating because I was in Charlotte to see the game against Florida (which we won), and did not expect the season to fall apart the way it did...we even beat the #1 team in the country that year. To end up where we did was incredibly disappointing. And when we had another impressive Year 4 win in Charlotte against Michigan, we peaked...in mid-December. It only went downhill or sideways after that. As such, it's hard to say I was surprised that Year 5 would be the worst of them all. At least we're all ready for a new regime...no debates on that.
