He does this a lot but for some reason people ignore it and say he never accepts blame

I’m really embarrassed by our performance. I thought we would have come out ready to fight, desperate for a win. We came out the complete opposite,” he said. “Texas Tech came out that way and knocked us back early. We were never in the game. I don’t know where it came from for us. We had two really good practices (the last two days) and Tech did nothing that we hadn’t gone through or talked about. We got beat in every facet of the game — outcoached, everything

Wow. He took the blame. Thank God because otherwise I would not have thought it was his fault we are 6-23 over the last 29 conference games. No way would I have come to that conclusion.

I dont really understand the complaints that he doesn't take blame, but IMO, that has nothing to do with whether he should stay or go.

It's all about the on court performance at this point which has been dismal.

Anything else (he doesn't take blame, bad arena, 3 burger boys left him high and dry, etc.) are non-issues.

I understand that. Just starting a different topic. I honestly don't even remember who they were but every capel/anti capel thread, people would say that he always blames it on the players and that he has never once accepted even partial blame.

Yeah, I know, I have seen those threads too. I don't agree with that line of thinking (that he doesn't take any blame) either.

When it rains it pours. When you are down - and Jeff sure is down - people throw stuff at you that they think will stick. And the negative commentary becomes thoughtless, reckless, and irrational. When you give folks a target sprawled on the ground some will definitely kick you with steel-toed pointed boots much harder than you deserve - including in the family jewels.

There are enough legitimate things for Jeff to be criticized about. The point is not the Jeff took responsibility for the obvious but that he has been criticized for not taking responsibility when that is not the case.

If we Joe C and his boss don't fire Capel over this record OU doesn't value Basketball. OU is the worst big 12 team during this stretch. I certainly won't support this coach going foward. He won't get another dime from me.

Hate to be the one to break the news, but the "dimes" you contribute don't go only to the coach. They benefit the student athletes, university employees, athletic department employees, vendors, etc.
